Because you didn't a template... I mean... I don't know where to place the parts of the kit.... should I place them anywhere I want? Should I copy any of the files you sent me into any folder?, etc, etc..
Please answer the email I've just sent you.

See ya!

Just resize the old 256*512 template to 512*1024

i have some problems with importing my edited bmps to the new template...because when i try it with EA graph, it looses a lot of quality and FSH tool isn't able to import textures into the kit fshs for some reason :(

I think its because of the strange palette the kits are using

Mike, is there any possibility to give the kits a RGB 125 palette ? That would be great :)

Yes, when FIFA 2003 first came out and Ariel found out the kits-format he told me that it uses a different palette wich distort some colours... that sucks, I know..
It'd be great to have the 256 colors palette.. :D
Tomorrow I'll work on some kits, and also make some new textures or improve the current ones!

Now, I'm going to do my homework and then to sleep.
BTW Mike, tomorrow I'll email you everything that I'll do (screenshots, kits, templates, etc).

See ya!

sorry, my fault, I changed it now to a 120 palette and the quality should be best ;) the 125 Palette would double the filesize and I guess it wouldnt increase quality.

THX for the hints !

@Fede just use the old offsets, when you double width and height of your kits it should be fine

it seems to me that Fifa doesnt accept HQS-Kits for both teams at same time, so I guess we should test this first and wait what Fede, Elber and others will report !

The problem is with the redesigned kit templates is that the SIZE of the textures and POSITION of the parts of the kits are stored in the player body model ( *.o ). Beacuse when you try to load a non 256x512 texture in oedit for the player model then it will be reduced to the main size. So we must first find a way to change the main size of the kit-textures then we could use oedits UV map to rebuild the positions of the parts on the texutres...

Sorry for my bad english... :( Hope u understand!

Hedgehog, I tried editing the uv map editor a while ago to have larger intakes and move it around a bit, but in the end it didn't work because the parts didn't match..:(

Yes beacuse first we must hexedit the *.o file and set it the texture larger then 256x512 ....

Hey Mike!
I've made my first kit, but don't know how to put it ingame..
I mean.. hmm... once I've imported the BMP to the FSH template, what should I do? and... can I take the screenshot with Dressign Room Cinema? I mean... will DRC load the new kit?
Tell me that and I'll make the first screenshots for you.

See ya!

Kit + Review

Manchester United kit template!

And the promised review!:
Well, let me think a bit... the High Quality Kits are a BIG step forward, because now the Kit Makers can make kits with ALL the details and get the kit almost like the real one! The back looks very nice, and smooth but it's also as sharp as it should be! The sleeves look shinny and smooth as well, and the shorts and socks are pretty nice!
I'll probably use this new format for all my new kits, but the bad things are: that making a kit will take some more time because of the huge sizes, and the we (kit makers) are not going to be ables to attach a kit in PNG format or even JPG (with max quality) so people simple save it as BMP and import it to the game - Why?- because the image is so big and every file will be heavier than what the Forum let us attach!

Although I'd recommend to the most 'advanced' kit makers to use this new technique because this will bring the people higher quality and more realism. I'd not recommend the new format for begginners or for people that aren't familiarized with their favourite Graphics Design program, because if they don't have a HUGE monitor they'll feel uncomfortable as they won't see the whole of the kit on their screen. I don't have problems with this tho' because I know how to use my graphics program (I use it almost all day long) and know how to play around with the limitations of my system specs.

Finally, if I'd have to rate this new Kits Format, my rate would be: 8.75/10

Thanks again Mike!!!!

See ya!

Hmm, don't really notice any significant changes although the NIKE logos on the socks are much better. Perhaps a different kit like Corinthians with a sponsor on the back e.g. PEPSI (see Hrvoje's thread "First HQ kits" or something) will show any improvements in quality... and maybe a kit with some logos on the sleeves.
