I started paying at ten this morning. The training is fabolous and I started with it. The situation training and I learned a few things, shoot feints and things in defence and off the ball how you can (with R2) make a situation to another with only a different run.

After 20 min a guy added me on msn from a swedish PES forum and said hey lets play. OK!!

We played 4-5 games (15 min) I think.
(I was the home side in every game)
First. Brazil - Argentina
Argentina won with 2-1. I dominated. Created 100 chances but couldn't score.

NExt game.

Real Madrid - Barca

2-1 (golden goal)

It was even steamen but now I scored more goals in less chances.

I scored so many pretty goals and now I learned how to use the finishes in a "Ronaldo way"

I conceded two goals. It was 0-2 and Figo got a PK. Missed it. Damn Figo! Then in the sec half it was Ronaldo show. HATTRICK and the win was mine;D

I played slow. Passed the ball between my players and had fun. I scored about when I wanted and came to a goalscoring chance when I wanted.

I LOVE THIS.

Now I will do the challenging training then I will take a shower and if I don't find anyone more to play with I will start a La Liga game with Madrid and/or a world cup with Brazil.


Two questions.

Is there a cup with Champs LEague format now? (don't think so)

yeah.. I realized how awesome this game is after first matches in ML mode with Barca and it finished with 1-1 draw against Bielefield, although ball possesion was total for me
priceless "i'm watching the real match" feeling

btw. I just "discovered" you can throw the ball from long throw in using old way by pressing "O" twice or more (single "O" makes this new animation of long throw)

PS. altho the gameplay is too fast I noticed I got perfect speed playing in rainy weather, try it and choose Milan and Wolf patch (Milan chants) - it sounds like you're playing during STORM

The finishes is a bit bad tho. Power instead of accuracy. At least players like Ronaldo and Nistelroy should be able to score now its hard to hit the goal one meter inside the penalty area from left or right.

But with some more training I will be able to score on a bit more chances. At least its better than Fifa super fast goalie ****..
The goalies are good in PEs4 (to good maybe) but then a **** shot comes in and the goalie just stand there and watch it go in. And the ball touches can be a bit better and more dribblings.

seems I bash it but thats the ONLY stuff that I think can improve.

Other games would've 123 "wanting-improvement-areas"

Now I now why the finishing suck!

It's beacuse the goalkeepers are to good AND that the players reaction to the "side arrows" is either to big or to small. He does never seem to put it to the goal. The "forcefield is gone" and it's like 100% manual. Now even if you stair to the left he will either shoot to the left and WIDE or shoot straight at the keeper.

I came with the conclusion after two hours of training where I reversed same situation all over again.

Btw. Isn't the goals a bit smaller?

And one more thing. A thing that would be useful in the free training to have a option on how many "home" players there should be and home many away players.

And one more idea could've been like "training scenarios" where in one you have to score alone with the keeper and in one you have to dribble two players before you get a little space or something like that.

The finishing do really suck but I am glad I can dribble the goalkeeper in 99 of 100 times tho but that's hard in online games cause you dont get enough space and time to both dribble him and get the shoot in. But when I do it's 99% goal.

I would agree if I was blind.

Good game but very bugged. Very poor netcode, the way overpowered through balls ruin any chance on a simulation anyway. So online games tend to get FIFA like arcade fests.

Let's hope a patch comes that fixes these glaring problems.

And to think I didn't even mention the penalties problem, semi-automatic online player switching, lag induced impossible for the client to score free kicks (online), keeper standing still and the slow response time when trying to control a ball yet

So unless your blind or a raving optimist the game is far from perfect, yet still enjoyable and good enough but flawed nonetheless.

Ugh...the more I play the more it pisses me off.

Through balls are really overpowered for the CPU and this is only because your centre backs stop for a second and let their mark run right past them.

Refs still favor the CPU and they can get away with most pushing off the ball while I can barely even touch the bloke.

The CPU is still way faster than the human player and can easily catch up with one in full sprint and there really isn't much of a way to fend them off.

agreed, why did they put this push animations if the cpu was going to abuse from them, they always take my players down, my players do the "im on the floor, what about the foul?" animation and i loose the ball

the CPU makes your centre backs asleep, RIO FERDINAND fell asleep last game and he let so many through balls pass , pretty fúckin unrealistic....

I have to disagree that goalies are "super" this year.

IMO they're dog dumb, sometimes they make awsome reaction saves(which look inhuman really) but most of the time their positioning is terrible, especially on breakaways.

The guys who say that the CPU through balls is to good i all wrong.

MY through balls is a great weapon so is CPU's BUT if you play with a central 4-line defending line and watch out in the defend, not put pressure so high and starti like more in your half.

This is real football. If you play like Real Madrid you will have a hard time against one who defends all the time and counter to come 3 attackers vs your two defenders beacuse Salgado and Carlos is up there attacking. This I found out playing online

I often is Real Madrid so I know this BUT this is not a problem. If you don't want them to play with your defending line you should play more "not pressure so high, gung ho"

Many times have the online players stopped me from attacking like I want cause I LOOOOOVE attacking. I am a striker and Ronaldo is my god. Brazil my passion. I want to attack attack attack so the human (and actually the comp to) learn this and put a stop to it. But since I have other ways (like Ronaldo dribbling hole his team then passing Zidane or the other way so he can still dream about stopping my attacking brilliance

But as people say the CPU gets really good if you like score in the 70th minute (1-0) but that I love cause even If they put som pressure on me and take much of the possesion I have Ronaldo on top and only one counterball is enough to kill the game. Damn this is so good.

This is chess. You gotta have brain if you play with 5*, 6* or with a good human player.

And the animations. Once again they are super and I have to give feed banckl to Konami to put Ronaldos real celebrations in.

Fifa have the same **** now for 2 years.

But I feel Ronaldo is a bit underestimated but that I can fix but it doesn't change for online so I am scared I will get spiled with he´s "cheated" speed and then get bad when Im not used to his not cheating speed

Since I have automatic player switching online, can't change it, I can't defend properly against your brilliant attacking play. Now if I had manual control it'd be a different story because my defenders would just step out of the way as they do vs the AI.

And when not hosting I can't use one of my biggest weapons: free kicks.

Currently online PES takes barely any skill what-so-ever but I remain hopeful Konami will release a patch so we can play a simulation online and not the arcade clickfest it is now.

EDIT: To clarify, I found the 4-3, 5-4, 2-5, 4-1 results online of which like 80% were 1v1's by through balls because you can't control your defenders at all, rather boring. It's fun when you have a real match though but out of last 5 I played only 1 was fun and that was injury time winner with Bayern vs Barcelona (1-0) after my friend dominated the whole match. Currently waiting for a patch to fix online play.. or PES5's improved online play, whichever comes first.
