I was just pointing out the bias thing because in your first post you stated that you wanted to stay unbiased but your post did not stay clear of that. I dont know how some of those were dives, maybe if it were Enlglish players than people here would think it was a foul because English players cant dive...Horatiu said:Most of those tackles "didn't endanger the health of the opposing player"
W/E dude, I already said thats my opinion, and this is yours
not that it has to do with anything but I notice you are also portuguese
there is nothing wrong with a hard fair tackle. if you can't take a tackle take up another sport.Virgo said:Wrong, by law any tackle that endangers the health of the opposing player is a foul and a yellow card. Look it up if you doubt it, the laws are not based on what english fans think it's fair.
Last year in a Benfica game Nuno Gomes had the ball in the box, the defender slided, got the ball first and the leg afterwards and Nuno Gomes was like 2 months out because of that challenge. Do you mean to tell me that's a fair challenge?

Dreath said:Every tackle could endanger the health of an opposing player. A simple shield tackle could cause a clash of knees, and if you got someone sprinting you risk a shatter knee-cap, believe me I've seen it. So is that a foul, even though he got the ball 100% cleanly? Hell no, it's a good challenge and it was unlucky

Bobby said:Actually, yes. If he won the ball it was fair.
TOON ARMY said:By Virgo's logic, sliding tackles should be done away with because there is a slight risk of injury? What next? Tell players not to compete for headers for fear of them clashing heads?
As long as the intention is to win the ball, i don't see the problem. Injuries are unfortunate but for the most part unavoidable and unintentional.
Virgo said:no there's a difference between sliding to get the ball and sliding to get the ball and take the leg with it
TOON ARMY said:I don't know of the incident you referred to. Was the defender penalised in the end?
ShiftyPowers said:Yeah, I get the feeling that Virgo has never played soccer before in his life. I've actually been challeneged like Joe Cole was in that posted video clip and completely flipped over. I didn't get up and yell at the player, and hell it was my own teammate in training, if I thought it was unfair in any way I would have been mad.
