It's bad but not even close to what Todd Bertuzzi did.modena_10 said:my God.
in my books, that is on the level of todd bertuzzi. this guy should be banned for 10 games or more. with a real hefty fine.
Shifty the monkey said:I got to agree, that sounds like me. In games I sometimes get caught up an deliberately go out to hurt people, even though after the game I will be mates with them. I always remember a game, where before my mate told me he's going to purposely injure one of the opposition, 20 minutes in he lands with two footer right on this poor mans shin, you could hear the crack from the other side of the field, anyway at first my mate got up smiling but afterwards having realised the tackle had in fact gone straight through the mans shinpad he was devastated, and was almost in tears once the ambulance arrived.
Anyway I can see why Man City have already acted, punishing him their selves may make the FA more leinent.

If he gets banned for the rest of the season, that would be great

Jambo Den said:Shifty, I'm gonnae come out and say I've done what your mate has done. Although the result not as extreme as a leg break, the intent to hinder another player's performance is there. Big Ron calls it "putting the reducers" on a player. I can guarantee it's been mentioned at almost every level in the game, certainly domestically in Britain.
People condemning what Shifty's friend did should consider this: A lot of players, playing for teams a lot of you support have both dived, exaggerated injury and subsequently tried to get a player booked by making a carding gesture to the ref. Tell me that's not sinister. Honestly, the way people talk about football these days as if it's a non-contact sport is unbelievable. Now, we could all see that Thatcher clearly intended to collide with Mendes and put him on his arse. But these things happen in football all the time.
