You heard it right, EA haven't done a good enough job this year.

FIFA 2005 is a polished FIFA 2004, and 2004 was RUBBISH! I'm not a happy FIFA "fan". The only football game that I love playing is PES, the one thing that stopped me from turning to Konami's side was because of the whole real player names, etc. But that doesn't bother me anymore, I want to play something truly realistic, the BEST football simulation you can buy and FIFA 2005 has failed. EA should stop with the "pick up and play" crap and realise that football players' want to LEARN and have a game that actually wants to make you go to practice mode and train, not just select it because they left it out last time

The free kick system is a complete joke, and so is the corner system, absolute joke.

The shooting, bah! don't get my started, all players' shoot the same, only attributes make the difference. Players' can hit the ball with extreme unrealistic power with a slight swing of the foot, HOW CAN YOU PLAY THIS GAME?!

First touch is pretty cool, but by no means does it make me explode in my pants like the previews suggested. It's going to take a lot more then a quick flick of a receiving ball to get me excited!

Well I'm glad I didn't get sucked in this year, I'll buy PES4...a game that will have me jumping out of my chair, screaming at the screen and jumping like a mad man when I score that screamer!!

FIFA 2005 is alright, but by no means is it some sort of 'brilliant' game, or anything that Konami couldn't do. On the other hand, it seems quite clear that EA can't make a game as good as Konami's when it comes to playing football and getting your kit dirty.

I don`t think it`s a wise idea to make this kind of thread here . . . First, the title and the arguments inside it will always bring flamewars based on my experiences posting here. There`s always be fanboys who will always flame anyone who doesn`t think like them. They don`t give a **** about your opinions or your dissatisfaction of an EA or Konami products. And second, this thread is gonna get closed sooner or later with someone or more people ended up gettin` yellow carded or even banned.

I can`t judge yet since I haven`t played FIFA 2005, but if I`ve played it and if I didn`t like it, I won`t post it here since the last time I did that at the FIFA 2004 forum, the only thing I got was flames, insults and a yellow card for EA bashing ( yeah right . . . ). The FIFA forum is not a good place to post your dissapoinment, it would`ve been better if you posted it at the PES vs FIFA forum, cos` this kind of posts will always lead to such kind of debate.

If you bash EA, but give a reason then you can't be yellow carded, if you simply just say "EA are crap", then I guess that's kind of asking for trouble.

On the other hand if you did give a reason, and it was an opinion, that of which the mods here didn't like to read, then that's pathetic that they yellow card you and I will be happy to leave this forum. :kader:

And before some newbies fanboys start flamin` Nick, you gotta know first who in da` hell Nick is . . . Nick is a very, very loyal FIFA fan and back in the good ol` days where this forum still has something called "respect of others opinions" and passions, Nick was a FIFA gameplay patcher. He has contributed a lot to the community and the FIFA editing scene . . .

Yeah but the thing is that ppl should learn once for all that FIFA is NOT PES and EA are not KONAMI, ok?
There's no point comparing. You can like and play both games, or you can dislike one of the two and stuck to the other one, without making a thing out of it.
As I said previously, this is the first time I can really play for hours and hours to FIFA without wanting to get into the game to kick the players' asses. But even though I like the game I want to try out PES4 (with a Demo or something) and once I do it I'm pretty sure I'll be playing both games this year, and even if I don't like PES (which I hardly can see that happening) I won't go to the PES forum to bash them and say sh!t about the game, because I know that it would start a new war, and no one will really give a f.u.c.k, it won't change a thing, and..... why is the main reason we are here? to have a good time and try to make the game (or both games) better, and maybe discuss what could be improved in the next version, and not to fight over which company is better, and fight everytime one of the two titles is mentioned.

My two cents.

(H) Damn right bro

Thanks Hans, I've been here for a long time, I am by no means some newbie that decided to give FIFA 2005 a chance, I was a hardcore FIFA fan.

And to Federico Debla, this isn't all about comparing FIFA to PES, or EA to Konami, this is about hardcore REALISM! And when realism is concerned, PES wipes the floor with FIFA when it comes to kicking the ball about and getting that rule book out of the referees arse!

I think you have an idea that my FIFA bash was just to praise PES and say how FIFA 2005 isn't as good as PES. Well, FIFA 2005 isn't as good, but no that's not just it, the main point is that when it comes to realism that ANY football games designer develops is that you should know, that it's physically IMPOSSIBLE to perform a lot of the actions you can do in FIFA 2005, the way the players' swing their legs around in god knows what positions and manage to hit just as good a shot as if they were standing on their heads or facing goal in perfect posture, it's just stupid! The way you can be running and in mid-movement just stick a leg out and shoot a perfect shot, OUT OF NOWHERE! Or no wait, perform a 'first touch' movement and not actually touch the ball!? What is this telekinetic football?!?!

You EA fans that claim to know all really need to understand that realism doesn't come in licensing or commentary, all that is just a damn right Bonus, and I prefer the actual prize.

EA took FIFA "back to fundamentals" in FIFA 2003 and you couldn't even header the ball when standing alone, that's irony for you. And now you can hit a perfect shot most of the time with a good player and score. Where's the emotion?

Well, I'm in this community as long as you or even more, I wouldn't be able to tell it for certain.
And if you think I've been playing and editing FIFA for so long just because of the license, commentary or because of the good music they put in the games, then you're so wrong, because I just don't give a f.u.c.k about all that.
Actually when PES3 came out for PC I was one of the most interested and I dedicated like... 3 or 4 months to make it run properly on my comp, and once I did it I played the rest of the year, and that was the time when I dissapeard from the FIFA Edition Scene (which was from... like.... December to.... one week ago). But when EA do something for good and it's actually a good thing which you can really enjoy playing some time, then it's fair to recognize it, too.
If you really want to go into the comparing subject, then I think FIFA is better than PES (and then again, I'm not talking about players' names, sound or that sh!t because I don't care about it....... see yourself, make a search in this forum and read all of my post and show me just one post in which I talked about Licensing, Commentary, Sound or that kind of thing). Even though you can do some pretty cool moves in PES (and prob'ly more moves than the ones you can make in FIF 2005) I think the players look more real when you're playing (when they're running, taking a corner, etc). In PES they still look too....... 'gameish', you know what I mean... like.... Konami still make the players like it's a "game" and not a real thing....
Although I have to say that it's true that in FIFA the shooting animations are bad and all the players shoot the same way...

But I think it's not fair to compare the two game, because you cannot compare something which is made by two different companies (if you've ever studied PHYSICS you should know that in order to compare two things, they have to be done with the same materials, and from the same company, and same everything)..... and it's also not fair to compare PES 3 to FIFA 2005....

Proud of you NIck; you've bee here a LOOONG time, and that truth must've been hard for you to speak...

There's nothing wrong - NOTHING - with demanding more from a company that has taken your money and given you feculence for so many years...it's liberating, isn't it?

I mean, EA isn't gonna change, no matter what you say; as Konami acquire more licenses, however, EA will hire different development teams and continue ot make the game better, but only at the pace of what they perceive to be the "maket," not at a pace that reflects a commitment to making a football game that truly feels like football.

IOW, EA have the little kids to think about, and they - EA think - can't play or don't play PES b/c its too hard an you can't score from 40 meters facing backwards with swivle hips...lol.

Again, proud of you mate. It took alot for you to speak the obvious truth, but we should celebrate the fact that you've acknowleged that the Emperor has no clothes..

EDIT: all that being said, I still think that FIFA 2005 is the best FIFA since RTWC 98, but b/c of FIFA 2000/2001/2002/2003/2004, and WOrld Cup 98/2002, they get a year off from me.

Its ALL about PES4 this year; they've EARNED it.

I am already looking to buy PES4 since the day I heard its coming out for Xbox. But then the other day, i was browsing through this fifa forum, and found awesome pics, features stuff like fifa shop, i was like woa Fifa gonna be awesome this year, but then i remember its always like this every year.:( I could end up buying fifa though, but I am like 90% sure i will get PES4.

If you buy FIFA this year you'll be like me and the rest of the fans last year, in a few months it'll be: "FIFA 2005 is crap, wow FIFA 2006 looks awesome, I can't wait for it"! I know this is true, because this is how I was. It's a complete cycle, every damn time, year after year, EA throw some little feature into the mix and bless it to bits like "ALL-NEW CORNER KICK SYSTEM FOR FIFA 2006: NOW YOU CAN PASS DOWN THE SIDELINE TO A CLOSER TEAM MATE, NOT ALWAYS IN THE BOX, FIFA 2006 - THE ONLY INTELLIGENT FOOTBALL GAME". What a load of BULL-SH*T!!!!!!!!! :kader:

a lot of good points here...

when i read the previews and they said that this year fifa may even beat pes3 i was excited.

now i either realize that either they have no idea what they are talking about, or the demo just doesn't do justice to the game.

still, i plan to get this game. I think it has improved greatly on 2004

in my humble opinion though, i still think we8 will be a far superior game.

i guess thats the end of our plans to go steal fifa 2005 from ea canada nk,:( :(

i guess now you'll go in and torch the building:crazyboy: :crazyboy: :crazyboy:
