Ideas for Gameplay Patch!!!

Hi, is there someone already working on a gameplay-patch for FIFA08???

The normal gameplay is awful my players are so silly, the CPU drives me totally crazy. I'm playing at worldclass and the computer players are only passing, passing, passing, and passing the ball through their rows (of course without any mistakes)...
All the Matches are so awful, the CPU doesn't really has good chances, but my players do... but guess do they hit the goal??? NO of course not, and even if the computer's goalie is such a titan he gets every ball. And I don't know what's to do to shot regular goals (asides from freekicks or penalties). It also makes no difference if I play against FK Teplice or Arsenal London...
I also played FIFA 07 also on worldclass and there weren't such problems.

This Gameplay and the CPU are SUCKING!!!


Here are my ideas for a better gameplay (for a Patch):
-CPU's Goalkepper shouldn't be that great anymore (I mean he's invincible!!!)
-CPU passes too much, that should get under control
-Headings should be easier to win
-CPU's defense is too hard, if your defense would be like this okay, but no that's just unfair and silly.

I'm sure there more points I could find, but these are the most important ones at first...

Have you other ideas, what do think?

Well,you can always play in an easier level.
I don't see it happening since most of people (including me) are glad with that change since we wanted a challenge.
In the other hand you might get lucky and someone will make a patch about it but i doubt it.

No, the CPU Goalie should be great but so should the Human Goal Keeper.

Yes of course we did, that's also my opinion, but the CPU isn't really good i mean. He just passes very unrealistic, his goals are stupid and he only scores because our players are more stuipid than his. I'm always better than the computer, but in the last minutes of a match makes these fluke shots.
It's just unfair...

If the CPU wouldn't be so lucky there wouldn't be a challenge anymore and playing a lower difficulty makes no fun beacuse your skills actually are good enough for worldclass or something like this.

I agree with the writer of the topic. Fifa is a nice game but it's still either too easy or too hard (at least for some people). This has been going on since Fifa 2005. I can't find a "moderate" difficulty level in which one could really enjoy the game. I need a level where I may win some games, lose some games, the AI should not be cheating (Super goalies and strikers running literally "through" my defenders).

I'm appreciating all the hard work put in Fifa 08 but for me it still has this main major flaw which renders the game too boring after a dozen of matches or so. On the easy difficulty levels like I can win easily with huge scorelines and on the hard ones I can't even score a goal.

That's why I always liked WE (not PES) more than Fifa despite Fifa's superior graphics and sounds.

Id like to see my team have the same AI as the opposition, with team mates that like to go for the ball instead of walking away. Id like to the the opposition back off a little bit instead of being on top of me and tackling me without any effort.
Id like for there to be a way to turn off the auto-switch on players, some times i just wanna mark a player on the wing, then the game switches me to a closer play automatically, then of course the player i WAS controlling stops marking and the AI passes to the guy on the wing.
One thing that bugs me also is that Team AI defense SUCKS SO MUCH ASS! They open up against the opposition, where as the opposition on the other hand will track you down and corner you. I love the new GK AI personally. All though i wish they wasn't so scripted, F.ex, anyone else notice sometimes they let the ball past them or seem to magically punch it onto the framework.. these seems to happen alot to me. Also every now and then if ive got pressure from a defender when im going into the box, sometimes they will pull me down and i not get a penalty, but if the same happens outside the box i get a freekick... anyone else notice this..

I think if there was a gameplay patch that could solve these issues, id love FIFA 08 instead of hate it. I lost a logitec game pad due to frustration

I think shooting is sh*t in FIFA 08,
long shots always go to one or other side

you can improve your timing with the shot. i mean make sure your player is in the right situation+right position+right power... make sure which leg is he's standing at the moment because if you released the shot button when he's on his right foot then he'll shoot with his left foot (as for most players' this is their weak foot but that's not a big matter if he has high weak foot ability)

I tryed with Ronaldinho ,Henry and other top class players,
and long shots always go to left or right side , even no players around me,
I go straith ahead, shot power is medium....

There are 2 ways to end this action:
1.GK catch the ball with no problem or parade
2.Ball go miles in side....

It`s like EA did copy some of old NK gameplays (with shooting errors)

Doesn't that happen in real life as well. Refs are reluctant to give out penalties.

My biggest biff with the game is my defense opening up the middle and the through pass sucks. it was great in 07 but now it just plain sucks. it's more a pass to the oposing team than a through pass.

Is there a gameplay patch that changes the keeper or at least the shooting system? This year the shooting and the keeper combined together art so unrealistic that it makes me sick, i mean there are no more beautiful goals from 30m and don't go and tell me that in real football there are only goals from within 7m. The keepers are set to amateur, i can handle the rest of the team being on world class but when all of the three times i even managed to hit the ball in the direction of the goal from more than 25m out the keeper just deflects it, it's just not fun to play anymore! And what's with the shooting i mean Ronaldinho's accuracy or Kaka's is something like mine, i mean every shot from a bit longer distance misses by five to ten meters!! That's not realistic!!! These guys can hit the net from the center! Please someone make a patch!!!! PLEASE!!

I wholeheartedly agree about the shooting and the keepers and most of the rest.

Ronaldinho and Kaka, and hell, even I can hit the net from halfway no problem. I have my odd screw up, but this game makes it look like it's totally impossible! 'Keepers come off their lines occasionally in real life, but not in FIFA. When I run at defenders, I push them around a bit, I don't stop the second I touch them and let them have the ball. When my real-life team defends, we don't try to run as far from the ball as we can, or try our best to make sure the attacking players are wide open, we close them down! I mean sure, make the game challenging, but make it realistic!

I don't know if it's something special, but yesterday, i scored two beauties with Beckham in Be a Pro mode, the second was from around 25 meters, chest it down, and volleyed in the net! I couldn't believe it, i thought the goalies difficulty was lowered, but no, quite surprising

But to be honest, this is my only goal from distance in 08...Like everyone said, the ball flies past the goal in 95%.Sure not every long shot has to hit the goal, but at least one from 10 tries.What makes me sick is when the CPU starts passing.Of course, a team is usually passing, and tries to build up an attack, but the CPU isn't.Just passes the ball around uselessly, i can't touch the ball for about 10-15 minutes.Though if i'm lucky, i can foul one of them so it shoots the ball forward, but then sometimes it heads the ball back to any of the defenders, and the passing starts again..
And the tackling. I already wrote this in one of the threads here, hilarious!
The CPU usually tackles me, but doesn't even connect with the ball, simply kicks my player and takes the ball

About the long shots,i have scored some and two of them were from really great distance so i don't think that there's a prob with that. (i have one of em in a video that i posted in these forums)
About defending,guys,i know it's hard to anticipate the opponent but that's how defence can be effective.When i run like hell to mark the opponent who has the ball,most likely,the CPU will go face to face with my goallie but when i'm kinda waitting for em,leaving them to make a mistake or to get in a spot where they can't get away from it it works like a charm.Or anticipate for the attacker,block the ways he has to pass the ball and call a 2nd defender.That works well too.

The bottom line is that imo the gameplay is fine (if you except a couple of minor things about fouls etc).You just have to play with the realistic way.

If i don't play fifa ''the realistic way'' then i don't even bother playin' it and for me the most realistic of all on pc is 07, i don't own an xbox 360 or ps3 cause the only game i play is fifa so it would be a waste of money buying a console to play just one game but i'm sure that the next gen version is perfect!

I know both fifa 07 and now fifa 08 inside-out and 07 is more realistic i'm going to change back to fifa 07 if there's no gameplay patch for the shooting at least cause it's the most desperate i mean i can get the ball in the net from the corner in play 30m away from goal because it's the most simple direction to shoot (run straight down the out line towards the corner flag and when you're 3m from the flag just shoot in the opposite direction of the direction of you run) and when i'm in front of the goal 30m out the game simulates a poor shoot - just LAME!!
So your ''if you know how to play the game, you know that there's nothing wrong with it'' reply is unnecessary. Go brag somewhere else,know the game good or not still fifa 07's gameplay is much better in some parts!!

People is there a way to transfer the 07 gameplay into 08? Or even better just parts of the 07 gameplay? Thanks!

The most annoying thing to me is the lack of fouls, almost every ball steal is perfectly clean, and that's kinda arcady.

Hell,the only thing that i can say is that if you pay attention i gave a couple of ideas about how to defence a bit more effective.

Totally agree! also i think that CPU formations in 08 are really DEFENSIVE. They took away all the aggressive formations and even if you create them they wont work anymore. I imported my created and beloved team from fifa 07 (5 stars, 99 99 97) with which i always manage to score from 5 to 10 or 12 goals against any team in 4min halftime playing LEGENDARY. But in fifa 08 i can barely score one goal in 6min and sometimes not even that in WORLD CLASS!! and its because cpu defends with 6 or 7 players! and as the author of this topic says, its not because cpu players are that good (come on, 2 stars teams play the same as 5 stars) but because they play like with kinda magic. They take away balls from you without touching them, score stupid goals and are passing all the time.

I loved fifa 07 game play, but 08 gameplay really sucks.
