Bayern's general manager said they rejected an increaded €30M/20 million pound bid in the last days of the summer transfer window and will do the same in January.
Alright, i didn't hear about that one, but you get my point about United's spendings per season and Chelsea's. And if Hargreaves did go to United last summer it would have been the most they spent in one summer in a long time.

ok, if we are not a big club then who last between man u and arsenal won the premiership. Oh and I wouldn't say that a big club gets knocked out of the first round of the champions league, while an average club like you say arsenal goes all the way to the final, get your facts straight or dont post at all and last of all who last won the FA cup, all your team aspired to last season was winning the carling cup which is a cup arsenal doesn't waste their time on

The discussion here is about teams in contention for this season's EPL title. Arsenal has been far far off their usual form this season. If you wanted to just randomly know how much Arsenal spent this summer, i can find it out for you, but if you just wanted to compare and who that they spent less than both teams, then yes, they did, but they plummed all their money into their new stadium. So we can't compare it, Arsenal didn't have a choice but not to spend a lot. Which might actually be very very beneficial for them in the long run, through young players getting more game time and experience.

The funny thing is, anyone except for Chelsea supporters see how much Abra actually is spending on players. They are fooling themselves, sure Man U have spent money, but not that amount in 2 years. Yes we have spent 30 mln before, but that was mostly our only purchase in a summer

it's not like chelsea's transfer policy isn't through the roof, but I'm sick of manu supporters bitching about it, it's whining on a veeeery high level, you know. my neighbors got a BMW 750i and poor me is stuck with a 745...boohooo

Well I am not whining about it, the fact is that peepz like Pede always come with 'but Man U also spend a lot of money in the past', sure we have spent money, but all I am saying is that Chelsea spent A LOT more since Abra, IMO Mourinho is behind Chelsea's success and not the money, but it helped them on the road to their current succes, that for me is a fact, I am not using that as an excuse, because we are playing great football, with almost the same squad as last season, so money isn't the main reason for succes, that's proof

well i have to say with the amount that man u have spent this season their results show that is has been succesful and if they do win the league it will show that money can't always buy the championship

Jeez....you two will be sleeping together if this relationship gets any closer. Give it a rest. :funny:

Man U have spent money too you Carlos*ass. They will be paying Larsson £114,000 PER GAME. That is called spending money, although it still won't be enough to stop us winning the league again.

I wish you blokes would drop the fantasy that all your clubs survive on a shoestring. It is utter BOLLOCKS.

Happy Christmas (H)

hahahha!

agreed though, thread is pretty pointless. i like the bmw analogy someone previously made. yes, chelsea have a lot of money, but so does man u, madrid, barca, and all the other major clubs. they have money, they will spend it. the fact that they are not at the top shows that money doesn't always buy you success, but they have a damn good team and players are willing to go there despite knowing it is near impossible to play.

basically, yes chelsea have a lot of money, yes they spend a lot, yes they make expensive transfers, yes their players/coaches get paid a lot, but.....who cares! make a squad to compete!!!!!!!! man u is top right now, and as someone's already pointed out, they haven't spent as much but are still competing, wigan almost drew with them today, bremen beat them in CL, so it can be done! money doesn't always equal success, so instead of bitching about chelsea, make your team good and beat them!!!

If Man Utd failed to win the championship this term, Am expecting them to wait a little longer before they will ever have solid chance to win again.. their backbone dis yr has been Neville, Scholes, and Giggsy.. which all are over their 30s.. wif C Ronaldo and Rooney flashing their brilliance occasionaly... I think dis term is the only solid chance of Man Utd wrestle the crown from Chelskie... If they faile this time... Fergie need to rebuild again... those guys need a solid replacement to continue the challenge... Ironically, Chelsea can simply flash their cheque book to improve every department.. and I really hope Man Utd win... two reason 1) they are playing the best football 2) to let Maurinho know that he is not "The Special One"

ronaldo has been the player of the season for us man.

But you have to admit that $$$$ is the only reason Chelsea has won 2 consecutive titles. How many did you win before the takeover???? yea thought so. And no Im not jealous of not having money to spend. All i can say is Shevchenko.

My point of thread is stressing UniteD having the best chance to win the crown dis yr.. stressing bout some old core players (Scholes, Neville, Giggsy).. they need rebuilding again, and as a matter of fact.. their replacememnt in the waiting are not up to par yet (think of Bardsley for Neville, ?? for Scholes, Richardson for Giggsy).. it takes time.. (you will notice that when Man Utd vs Chelsea again.. just look at the roster of 1st XI and players on the bench)...It wasn't about the amount of money spent by either club..

Chelsea has a great squad and set the standard bar in EPL... MONEY no doubt helps... and they can simply improve again by buying the best players.. they have a lot of depth in every department.. very quickly.. dat is a fact... and Man Utd from the past history... always failed to land best players.. barring few flops..

My point still about Utd having the best chance to land the title this yr.. not condemming Chelsea..

and am a Liverpool fan.. there's only one team I really wish to see winning the crown.. but realistically.. It wudn't happen so soon.. I admit the fact.. thou iz painful..

Pure garbage mate. We won the last two titles because we were better than anyone else. The same reason that anyone wins the EPL. We won it once before Jose and Roman arrived.

Of course without the money from Roman, Chelsea would actually no longer exist so excuse me if I don't feel too bad about that won't you.

For the zillionth time mate...Arsenal DO have money to spend but they are too tight to spend it. Be annoyed with your own club for treating you like a mug for so long instead of torturing yourself over Chelsea.

And even without Sheva performing as of yet, we are still 12 points ahead of your tatty little club. So we can afford to wait for Sheva thanks. We waited patiently for Drogba while all you dicks were calling him a flop. Now look at him go. The EPL's top scorer this season. Nice huh? :bob:

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was today presented with a special award by Barclays for being the first player this season to reach 10 goals in the Barclays Premiership. He also received a £1,000 donation to the charity of his choice.

Drogba passed the 10 goal mark on Sunday with a stunning match-winning volley in Chelsea's 3-2 victory away to Everton. He now leads the Race for the Barclays Golden Boot by one goal, ahead of Portsmouth's Nwankwo Kanu. Manchester United pair Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha, plus Reading's Kevin Doyle, are only two goals behind, with a tally of eight for the season.

It is the second successive season that the 10 goal landmark award has gone to Stamford Bridge, after Drogba's Chelsea team-mate, Frank Lampard, became the first to break the 10 goal barrier during the 2005/06 campaign. The award is part of the Race for the Barclays Golden Boot, in which the first player to reach the 10, 20 and 30 goal landmarks receives an award and a special donation.

Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards panel, comments: "Didier Drogba has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring a succession of both spectacular and decisive goals. He has broken the 10 goal barrier after just 18 matches, but with five players in close contention at the top of the scoring charts, I expect the Race for the Barclays Golden Boot will go down to the wire."

and i wonder if he would have been at your club if you didn't have abromavich

man u is willing to pay near 20 mil pounds for hargreaves, chelsesa didn't pay that much more for drogba, 24 mil pounds i believe, so it's not unrealistic. one thing is for sure though, he certainly would not have landed in arsenal. much too old for wenger i believe since he's over 15, maybe if he had a son, wenger would sign him instead.....
