Before I start this post, I want to let ppl know I am not a FIFA fan, I do not work for EA Sports, blah, blah, blah, as being a prophet I can foresee that most of the responses will circle around the abovementioned points.

I Want a Fair Answer From All the Die HARD PES Fans:

What do you see realistic in PES3?

Please let me know, as I cannot see it. Me & My friend downloaded the demo, had a look at it, and couldn't stop laughing. Mind you, we are hardcore players if ISS2 on PS1.

The tackling is awful, shooting is crap (its like shooting a medicine ball), the lob is useless, players run like they are on SPEED (its a drug if you didnt know), player models are awful, etc, etc.

Yet it is considered to be the most realistic football simulation!?

How?

To make a point, I hate FIFA2004, it is a waste of HD space, so I am not making a biased comparison. I was looking for a decent footie game on the PC and had a look at both FIFA and PES, and they are both crap in my opinion.

Please enlighten me with your thoughts!

The only good thing I can see about the PES3 demo is the passing.

Another point I forgot to mention, when the players run, they seem to instanteneously stop and change direction. This is not possible, why you ask?

The simple law of MOMENTUM!!!

It's realistic due to the physics and behaviour of the players. Not perfect, but the best on the market.

Hugely enjoyable, too.

The physics how?

As I mentioned above, the player MOMENTUM is terrible, shooting is horrible, the only good physics I can see is that passing, thats about it!

How about chasing the CPU player all over the field as you cant tackle them without sliding!?

Bottom line is that this game is a CONSOLE game which means it is an ARCADE game, it is not a SIMULATION.

Remember the days when VIRTUA SOCCER was the best footie game, however it always had that arcadish style to it.

Same as PES3!

you said it yourself, the most realistic. not perfect, but from all the choices it's the most realistic game out there.

The tackling isn't awful. It's mainly down to timing and the direction you challenge them from. Have you ever seen a player burst down the wing at full speed? It's quite well modelled.

As for the player models, they are a bit shifty but they're more realistic than the steroid injected lab-freaks that feature in other games. The shooting's well done, too. Have you tried kicking a medicine ball?! I'd say the shooting in PES is pretty accurate. It's all about precision, lad.

Lobbing the ball will work but it's a precise art. It's a simulation so you expect things to be difficult. Thousands would agree with your statements, millions more wouldn't.

I am sorry to BURST ALL YOUR BUBBLES, but PES3 has so many flaws it is unreal.

At least the FIFA players can admit the flaws in the game, all you PES3 players are wrapt in this little world of yours where you think PES3 is the PERFECT simulation.

AS IF!!!

The players can't turn that fast, when u try sprinting down the length and change direction, its not that responsive.

Erm.. however, the 180 degrees turn is crap though.. that's the worst thing about the game i feel.

There is no such thing as a "perfect game".

Guys, ignore this lad, he has started enough piss in the FIFA forum.

I have seen a player burst down the wing at full speed (in PES3 this full speed is twice as fast as real life full speed) and no player can come to a complete stop from a full burst in an instance, if he did, he would slid, lose balance, etc.

It is the LAW of Physics, its all about MOMENTUM !

If it is so real, why dont the players TIRE at all ???

There's no law that says every console footy game is an arcade game. Sure, the speed does give it an arcade feel but the way you have to build up play and spot the runners, make it a realistic experience.

Sega Worldwide Soccer. That went quickly, didn't it?

They do tire, I assume you have not played the PS2/Full version yet.

They do tire but they're professional athletes that are expected to last 90 minutes. If they pick up a minor injury, it knacks them up.

I'll agree that the fatigue system is a bit screwed up, mind.

shokz

The Red Devil
The fatigue system is just fine in the full version, you've got to play Master League to realise that.

i think your all missing the point here, his posts are only to wind people up and get some arguments going

Exactly.

Otherwise he would've known better to start the thread in the KONAMI vs FIFA forum instead. :ewan:
