When Davids was brought in i assumed hed be a regular starter, which hasnt been the case so far. Apparently Cambiasso played very well, so like VDM he will likely be rewarded with a place in the first team. Good to see Burdisso is playing well, cause if he can turn into a great CB right now, Inter will be tough to beat. Too bad he doesnt have a great partner in D, Materazzi and Cordoba bother have their flaws.
EDIT: whats going on with Inter.it, i wanna see higlights from CL game, and they usually post them the day after (im very impatient )
Indeed. He's only started in 4 out of a possible 8 (1 in the CL) games this year and that's really not indicative of his play but rather Manicini trying to find a balance in squad rotation and some short-sighttedness by him also in formation.
Cambiasso's play is being highly exaggerated (I just watched the game for a second time) and he was hardly present in the midfield, I'll grant him that he made some decent passes, but he made no impressions on me that would grant him some more playing time. You could definitely see the difference between the two when Davids entered the game.......he was all over the place, making awesome dribbles and passes.......to put it simply, he covered a lot of ground while Cambiasso was just ordinary.
-Burdisso was very apprehensive again whenever the ball was passed to him to either clear it or distribute it, but other than that, he was decent.....nothing special.
-Favalli was very liable and made some amateurish mistakes (his signing still doesn't make any sense to me) He seems to be making a habit of blundering for no apparent reason other than that he sucks.......just dumb mistakes, man.
-Zanetti.......
He added more stability to our defense when he entered the game for Favalli......what a versatile son of a bitch...
Very valuable and all-purpose, just like King Cordoba, man.
Ze Maria, Ze Maria, Ze Maria! If there's a dude who's contributed to the team enough to be deserving of a starting spot, it's him. He distributed the ball intelligently and purposefully, that air of calmness and class of his was needed to deal with a kid like Wilhelmsen who's got a lot of speed to burn.
-Adriano.....enough can't be said about his importance to this squad, but he should really work on his right foot if he want's to sustain that air of unpredictability about him. He's the perfect attacking footballer minus that right foot, and it was very evident against Anderlecht. He had the option of taking the ball to the middle or to the right quite a few times but always chose to depart to the left......you'd think the defenders would catch up on this and stop him more easily, but with his class and genius, he still managed to pull great crosses off from that side, even though the defenders knew what was coming (the Martins goal being the perfect example of this)
-Stanko's goal.......spectacular..........woof
-Veron, made some great passes, but he doesn't really deserve any great mention other that he needs to stop picking up dumb yellow cards....sheesh
-Emre, same goes for him, he worked very hard out there, man. 'ope his injury isn't too serious
-Cordoba......solid, Burdisso should aspire to be just like this King of defense.
Respect to Anderlecht.......what a lively squad you guys have got.....they kept reminding me of Ajax quite a bit......impressive attacking football, but lack of clinical finishing led to you guys losing this game...that 3:1 score could've easily have been a tie or even a win for you guys, man.
-Kompany....wow.....I mean I've seen him play before, but never really kept a keen eye on him. I can't describe the quality of this kid nearly as good as I want to......he's just that awesome. Is he really still a teen???? What a Libero/sweeper.....he combines his defensive skills so well with his attack. There were times when I was watching that game and I was like (who's this knew midfielder on the pitch all of a sudden??) then I'd see those arm-bands on his wrists and go.....ah.......Kompany. He plays so well as a free defender, but man-marks a player equally as well too. He did a fantastic job on Adriano in a lot of threatening situations....he simply can't be a teen and have that awe-inspiring composure and ball distributing (hardly saw him carelessly give the ball away or just boot it out of play) skills and be a teen.......defenders don't really mature fully until they're into their mid 20s............I hope the rumours of him coming to us in January are true, man.
