Hard to say.
In a 4-2-3-1 that Italy had been playing, Inzaghi doenst really fit in because its thought he cant play as a lone striker because that would be Vieri's position first, and that he cant play as the attacking midfielders because thats not what he does. I think he will be on the bench for when more than one striker is needed.

wicked performance for Italy by everyone except for Panucci. He was crap again, like he was in the German friendly where the only thing he did good was the clearence off the line but he sucked the rest of the match. Oddo did much better when he was subbed on for Panucci, and this also allowed Camoranesi to get more into the game I thought.

yeah Panucci was poor once again :f***: his mistake could have been disastrous. Lucky for him and Italy, buffon cleared the mess up.

please someone shoot him for me...what a waste of space. Bring on the ever-reliable Birindelli or Massimo Oddo.

hmmm....great game for italy, i guess...some simulation by the italians......why are portuguese/spaniard./italians very big on simulating......they just come off as being foolish...cut that ****e out of your system....all of you.

One more thing, this unwritten rule about stopping play or throwing the ball out everytime someone goes down (faking it like in vieri's case or not)....why is soccer the only sport that goes by that stupid rule? In the NBA, if some dude falls or twists his ankle and the other team are on a breakaway....they DONT GO OUT OF BOUNCE or STOP!!! Same with most other sports....I mean vieiri doesn't play defence he wouldn've been able to do ****e about that opportunity wales had.....he's also definitely not a goalkeeper....sheesh...if the goalkeeper gets injured during play.....fine stop the action, but if some other player goes down and you've got a chance, why phucking stop?

I can't be the only person who feels this way....

its called sportsmanship between players... football, basketball have time outs... soccer can go 10 mins without stopping

"sportsmanship" my ass....it has nothing to do with fatigue..if that's what you're eluding to....a player is out of position, sees the ball fastly getting away from him, what does he do? Start rolling around and rubbing his ankle or whatever

Sportsmanship is being fair minded and respectful of other players on the pitch...it is not giving another player a breather and some time to grab a water bottle

minor injuries are part of all sports, mate

why the f*uk would you bring this up if you weren't talking about fatigue..??

"football, basketball have time outs... soccer can go 10 mins without stopping"

the NFL/NBA use time outs mainly for strategical and fatigue purposes...there are ref timeouts for injuries and the such..if a player goes down in soccer and the other team has the advantage, why can't they pursue that advantage that they've earned???

don't cover for this lousy unwritten rule by bringing sportsmenship into the scheme of things

Trap drops Pippo from the squad, brings him back up, and he scores 6 goals in 2 games... talk about throwing it in the manager's face (H)

Pope u make no sense! haha, soccer is a class game, unlike nba and nfl, who cares they are different games. Why don't NBA players have celebrations after they score a bucket, because that would ridiculous, like your argument.

I'm just glad that finally Trap has seen the light and the amazing attacking players that Italy possess. Del Piero is too good to leave on the bench, and Inzaghi is a fabulous 12th man off the bench because he has so much energy. Trap and Italy have finally seen the light, I wish we could replay the WC2002 over again.

First of all, everyone shut your mouths about NESTA going down and Wales not clearing. What youve never been fouled gone down and than you feel better after??? This happens in just about EVERY game ive ever seen, and they put it out let him have treatment, than give it back. Its not like it was scoring chance, they only got that far cause all the italian players were expecting wales to put it out. Nobody try to put a blackeye on an otherwise dominating performance by the Azzurri.

Now to the game, i think Inzaghi has to start the next game at least, for his performance today. I also have to apologize to everyone for sticking up for Panucci, i still think hes very good at going forward, but he makes to many mistakes to warrant a start on this team. If i was Il Trap, this is the lineup id select for the serbia game.

-------------------Inzaghi------Vieri------------------
Del Piero------------------Totti-------------Camoranesi
------------Zanetti-----------------Perrotta-------------------
---Zambrotta-----------Nesta--------------Cannavaro
-----------------------Buffon------------------------------

I think that lineup favours the teams strengths the most, the only key is Del Piero realizing he can contribute the most to the team as a left sided attacking midfielder.
