Brazil could have opened a 3-title gap in 2006, and yet I didn't see any evidence of anti-Brazilian rigging in Germany. On the contrary, we actually had an easier than average group and round of 16 match (and then deservedly lost to France).



if the Europe vs. South America thing was really an issue I guess the corrupt FIFA officials would rather steer the best European team away from one of its strongest opponents at this early stage. There would plenty of other opportunities to rig matches and deny Brazil chances to win the title.

I don't think so. Since football has been gaining a pretty much strong commercial verve year by year, having Brazil winning 2 WCs in a row and one of them at home; it would only make the Brazilian Football 'brand' even stronger. I also imagine that in the next four years, with Brazil as 2010 WC champion, most of the young talents and important playes will try to land back here as fast as they can for obvious reasons and that's terrible for european clubs in general.

I didn't mean a show like something great, I meant exhibition.

1. Stop double and triple posting. There is a button to the right of "Quote" to respond to multiple people.
2. The title of this thread (and the fact that you made a whole thread for this) is a COLOSSAL overreaction. The Ivory Coast tied/lost to two very good teams, and their supposed arrogance hasn't been alarming by any means. Teams like France and England are much more deserving of a thread like this... which makes this thread border on bigotry.

2. I think you're putting too much of your heart in that statement. I understand why you, specially you as an european hate them both, but in this Cup, France and England resignedly accepted their poor performances and although England tastes a little bit more of luck and competence they went through liters of sweat to make it. Moreso, I didn't see any of the very and usually arrogant english players or french players behaving arrogantly. They pretty much went down head to their dressing rooms after the negative results. But Cote d'Ivoire? Man, when I saw that Drogba flaming the fans, asking for their support after Kaka was sent off...I wanted to be at Johanesburg just to put my hands around his neck.
