What the hell is your problem? Don't have a go at a whole football club. twatboy
And yes of course I would say the same idiot. I'm not a hypocrit.

Eric spent enough time at suspension and doing community service for the thing he did. Nobody says that it was great, but the whole crowd and a player marking Cantona were winding him up the whole time. He served his time and i think it's time we forgot about this incident, especially when there are so many people that cheat everyday and nobody is really talking about them. Don't get me wrong footballers should be able to keep their cool for the money they are getting, but they are humans too, not robots, how would you feel if you were sent off in a game that didn't go your way and then thousands of fans started chanting racist remarks at you? Would you think about your fat check and walk away?INFESTA said:I like Cantona too, but you guys are just biased. Justified reason!? Give me a break. And I believe the FA gave him a medal for it, didn't they?
So what if the guy Cantona hit was a moron? You're getting paid big time, so just ignore him and behave decently. It's not a bar you're at, it's a football match.

::shinji:: said:haha you really got a hate-on for C.Ronaldo, don't ya!? Well, regardless of what you think of him on the field, Ronaldo does a huge amout of charity contributions for children in poor countries, and uses his fame for raising funds for those types of organizations. He's not the evil prick you seem to beleive he is..
untouchable said:Talk about beating a dead horse. How much people has complained about this now? That might of been a dark period in Cantona's career, but his best moments far outweigh that one moment, therefore you have no case.
And ShearerM4, I dont see your problem with Ronaldo. Sure he whines alot when he's fouled in matches, but he's eliminated the diving comepletely, he only goes down when he's genuinely fouled, and he's improved his game immensely, cut him some slack man.
Callum said:I fail to see what cantonas super kick makes him a hypocrite for talking about playing beautiful football? He is saying stop diving, playacting, time wasting, none of which he did, and to play real football and beautiful entertaining football. So whats wrong with him saying it? I think that his acts were entertaining, to say the least
Help? said:What's the big deal about this picture? The guy is a racist and got what he deserved, i believe that he is even banned from all stadiums now at all after another bad incident. If any of us were in Cantona's shoes at that moment, we would have probably done the same.
Eric had a justified reason for his action.
Yeah, i thought of that too. Joga Bonito is portugese as well.Sevillista said:The commercial has a corny feel to it but the message is excellent. Barca's win over Chelsea is a triumph for the Joga Bonito.
Cantona's kick has absolutely nothing to do with the message of Joga Bonito. It was aside from the game. This argument is null.
Btw, just a side note, is anybody else disappointed with the selection of clips they chose? It was as if their message was, "play Brazilian soccer." Don't get me wrong, I think the Brazilians are the epitome of Joga Bonito and I think they play the best soccer in the world, but they should have evened it out with more Europeans. Get more Zidane, Figo, etc. There is a wealth of beautiful plays out there in just about any match you watch, why show just the Brazilians?

INFESTA said:we had all forgot about that incident until we saw Cantona in a tv commercial advertising fair-play and the beauty of the game. Some found that hypocrit and that's why this thread was made.
Help? said:Don't know how you think, but in my opinion it is much worse to dive and win your team a penalty or get another player sent off, rather than kick and beat the **** out of a wanker that deserved to be beaten.
Let me say this again Cantona is HUMAN, big paycheck does not take away emotions, if it does than football has a serious problem coming it's way.
INFESTA said:Really, you people wait until you start working for real and then we'll talk about having to swallow your pride, your manager's angry and unfair remarks, etc., for that tiny slim check at the end of the month.

Sevillista said:I thought this would be an appropriate place for these videos. The two links at the very bottom are to videos of two commercials which are pretty famous in Spain.

For those that don't speak Spanish, they translate as follows.
"The commercial Renault vehicles have taken Rafa Guerrero to some forest so that he doesn't interrupt the best plays."
"The commercial Renault vehicles have taken Simeone far away from anything so that he doesn't ruin the best plays."
He sounds like there is too much saliva in his mouth when he keeps saying Goal. Very annoying because they are so short.rony31 said:anyone else find these commercials annoying?
