Well, you sometimes see 4-2-3-1s which are really 6-man defenses. I mean, it all depends on how players position themselves in the different moments of the game. Obviously you'll be defending with 5 or 6 when the other team are attacking.

I've never disagreed with this point either, I don't understand why anyone thinks it isn't, the wide players are wing backs not wingers and never will be, it's too unbalanced no matter how good your wide CB's are.

Personally I think the main issue is there are too many "me-too" managers who copy systems and such from other teams regardless of whether they have the personnel for it
