Konami does nothing for EURO 2008?

I'm thinking of buying Seabass a world atlas just to point out to him where Europe is.

Anyway, joking aside, €A had the contract with UEFA to make official European Championship games for a while now, they made Euro 2000, then Euro 2004, and now Euro 2008. Don't think there was much Nokami could do really, unless they were prepared to spend high (which they don't!).

Who cares about Euro 2008? People play the game for two weeks and after that period they switch back to the previous game.

conami shouldn't do anything as far as the Euro08 concern. But they should put more teams (national and club) into the game, then when whichever big soccer event comes, they just release the game with updated roster and kits (for those they get licensed), that's how ea has been doing.

to put it this way if konami made a euro 2008 game people would get the game then get a patch with better kits rosters faces menus logos etc it wouldnt be worth it and wouldnt be much different from pes 2008

I agree on PES having more national teams.

WE10/PES6 had a number of them hidden away as unplayable teams in Japan/International Challenge mode, so why not all those national teams, and some others be included in the national teams. It wouldn't matter if all those "new" teams had false names because we have a community who would spend hours putting those right after all.

If EA can surely Nokami can - they've spent more on getting more and more teams licenced so surely they can.

on the topic of the japan challenge mode i was going through 0_text found all the files from it is there some way to unlock it cos i really want to play it, sucks that you cant qualify as any asian team for the world cup imo

as far as I'm concerned, people from the past have been demanding more clubs teams over national teams. Konami wouldn't do it as the majority of European NT's are still there.

as for me, very likely I would create own Euro tournament from WE:PES 2008 (PS2).

It's coming to hit the stores on this March 11th in the US !

I think Konami is rather lazy. Why don't they take this oppoturnity to improve the last PES version (PES2008), while it will cost less time (I'm just guessing) to wait for 1 year more until the next PES version (PES2009). E.g keeping the advanced graphics OF pes2008 and reverting to the best things of gameplay of PES6.

Licencing

For teams, competitions it's all about licencing and money, I would rather they concentrate on gameplay than what EA does (but licencing and make an inferior project ie Nascar09)

Don't u think Konami will miss this fact?
Meanwhile, FIFA restarts and will release new piece next Apr.

FIFA reacts so quickly and that's why they collect every penny in the game wolrld...:o

hmm i think u need the license to be able to produce a game for euro2008... and EA has the license... i dun see why u need a game for euro2008 :S.... at least konami is producing a more realistic game than EA... Konami is not even specialist in sports game(EA has a specialised department for that(EA sports) but still producing a better football game...

I think financially EA is successful as they release so many pieces keeping updated of the real facts and someday they may buy Konami if they do want. As u can see many game developers were closed and merged to the giant ones in the last time and EA is a giant. Though Konami's gameplay is better as many men here are thinking but we're always expecting any new ones. For me, I'm ready to pay some money to get their (EA) next stuff to see if anything new, simply. That's the thing Konami can't do so.

Don't u think someday we will have a FIFA PES20xx with EA''s great graphics n Konami's great gameplay. For me, it's better for permanent exist of a
competition, but who knows the future. Any game developer may die if no improvement or no satisfaction for player is made. In this case, EA is bigger, richer and they can live longer, lol.

Financially EA are successful because for many years they have produced many sub-standard cash cow games that have sold by the millions, giving them substantial profits. As a result they've become the gaming industry's own answer to M$ in that money is no object and if there's any competition in the way of monopolisation, they simply buy them to take more share.

No wonder they can afford to buy all the licences you could ever hear of. Besides, I think Konami would never fall to the 800 pound gorilla.

Yes m8,

Except EA tries to be stubborn with their unchanged point of view, they may lose many customers. But I don't think so. As a tycoon in gaming industry, I don't think EA's brains (which always think how to catch as many customers as possible) will not do anything.

As fans of PES, we wish Konami will live stronger, but the practical situation is sometimes inevitable. Microsoft is now trying to buy Yahoo!. If I'm not wrong EA used to pay and get license frm Konami to use the 'physical system' of ball movement in PES ( FIFA 2005 maybe). We like Konami to release more pieces and by that way they may improve their standing. E.g instead of preparing pes08 NA version, now they can make PES EURO 2008 (to welcome the fact EURO 2008). Some men here said Konami didn't get the license but they don't need to do so. , they may continue using PES6 engine (of which gameplay is more favourite) and add some feature (graphics, music...)and some small improvement (I mean the remarkable improvement may be passed to the next year's version). Such thing just cost them a little time but earn more money. See, FIFA 08 is just a little change compared with the 07 (though 2 versions is 1 year apart).

It's just our rough idea. Btw, I'm still wondering why Konami didn't have any reaction, though many negative comments appeared when the demo of PES08 was released. Didn't they listen ? As many other game developers used to do, they could have delayed the date of publishing and waited until their product is well finished.
