I watched Melinda and Melinda last night and it was REALLY good. not as good as the classic Woody movies but much better than at least his last 5 or even 10 (and I did like Anything Else).
Will Ferrell is genius, and Radha Mitchell does a really good job in the lead though she's nothing extraordinary and certanly not Diane Keaton.
Chiwetel Ejiofor had a very good and likeable performance though I felt it was too safe, like there was no way somebody could fail in that role. Chloë Sevigny, Amanda Peet and Jonny Lee Miller round up the very good cast. Sevigny's character actually started kind of not interesting to me and her wardrobe was very old looking which bothered me actually. But then she started shinning after a very good scene with Ejiofor when her characters changes a lot and I really liked her then.
But the movie is all about Will Ferrell and his "Woody" work. He does it perfectly and really funny. He also has one "Will Ferrell" scene that was very funny. And his chemistry with Radha Mitchell was great.

He did the presentation on the DVD I think, but no more.
I watched Five Easy pieces yesterday - one of Carlos Nicholson's early films. A little disappointing to be honest, it was good, but I'd been told it was in the Easy Rider class which it certainly wasnt. Had a lot of meaning behind it though, and Nicholson was just superb, always amazes me how damn good he was in his younger days.
