watched The Queen today, very well done although the theme is rather boring.

Helen Mirren is amazing.

The monarchy must not be too pleased with this film. It gives the impression they're all a bunch of old fashioned morons that do nothing but hunting and drinking tea.
I really liked it too. I didnt find it at all boring, but I suspect the story is much more interesting to brits who live with the monarchy and government permanently.

Dame Helen was fantastic, I really hope she bags the oscar. She's had a really great career actually, Long Good Friday is the daddy of british gangster movies, The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover is an arthouse masterpiece and she was in Prime Suspect on the telly, which is quite good, apparantly.

I can never like Forrest Gump after it pulled off the ABOMINATION of winning best picture at the 1994 oscars, up against masterworks Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. Biggest travesty in oscars history.

Cripples > Drug users and criminals, basically.

Sentimentality goes a long way in Hollywood. Gans a bit nuts on the "I've done everything in my life." angle, but it pokes a lot of fun at itself.

Forrest Gump was '94? Christ. Now I know why I never really got into it, I was too busy eating Digsy's Dinner.

I know, it sucks how a movie has to either be a biopic or tackle some "issue" to win acadamy awards these days. Just look at last year - Crash=racism, Brokeback Mountain=homosexuality, Good Night and Good Luck=social prejudice and Munich=religious intolerance. What's wrong with just being a great ******* movie?

It's actually a very good movie tho, in contrast with Titanic or Chicago

Oh, certainly. Not quite as powerful as Shawshank, in my opinion but you can see why it got the Oscar.

Plus, could you pick a winner out of Gump, Fiction and Shank?

Absolutely, Pulp Fiction is an absolute masterpiece, Shawshank is a masterpiece and Forrest Gump is no more than decent.

The last film i watched is WIMBLEDON !! :)
This is a great film what can i say!
I'm a tennis player and i really enjoyed about it...
The film explains superbly what can a tennis player feel when he plays last matches of his or her tennis career. If you are 32 years old and you couldn't win a grand slam yet.. :-puke:
At the first sence of the film says:
Every person has a dream, every tennis player dreams that he wins a grand slam but for many tennis players,it is just a dream..

THIS FILM,IS A BEAUTY!!! :drevil:
