I don't know what DDL is, but a high class musical like Les Mis seems like exactly the kind of movie that will win an Oscar for Best Picture. But I guess I can see how none of the actors would win individual awards.

And woah... Sacha Baron Cohen is in the movie? Looking at the IMDB now, that is a pretty incredible cast. I'm not sure you could assemble a better cast to make a serious tragedy, while also being a popular success.

Anyway I saw the original Ocean's Eleven a day or two ago and didn't like it. I thought the acting was pretty meh except for Cesar Romero (who is barely in the first 90 minutes), and the Rat Pack was surprisingly devoid of charisma except for Sammy Davis Jr.. I was really disappointed actually.

And they all do really well in it.

I think going against Hugh is that he isn't as singularly the main character as DDL is in Lincoln. Like Hugh is clearly the main character, but he shares the spotlight much more I think.

Great to see two of Australia's biggest exports acting together in the same flick too

I saw Lincoln and Daniel Day Lewis is no fuckin joke! He is definitely getting an oscar for his performance!

I also saw Taken 2 which is bullshit!

But still so far I think the best movie of 2012 (haven't seen Hobbit yet) is The Dark Knight Rises.

Life of Pi, Argo, Lincoln, Cloud Atlas and Django were also great!

I just saw Skyfall. I may or may not watch Django Unchained right now. I thought it was okay, but didn't feel like a Bond movie at all. The last 30-45 minutes was basically a Western, and a big part of the first 90 reeked of Batman. Odd that it took us 3 movies to basically get Daniel Craig to be the James Bond that we all know and who knows how many more of these Craig has in him; maybe one or none.

Watched Craigslist Joe, a documentary about a guy who lives for 30 days off of Craigslist. No money, no contact with friends/family, nothing. It was actually quite interesting.

Django Unchained - Brilliant. One particular scene made me laugh as hard as probably any movie ever has. Tarantino is the boss.

If you are a Tarantino fan than watch it! You will absolutely love it! Waltz and Carlos*son are hilarious and Dicaprio's acting is phenomenal!

This year's Oscars nominations has some garbage in it and The Dark Knight Rises didn't get one nomination! I am boycotting Oscars!

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to be nominated for the best picture but I still think should have gotten nominated for other categories. I still think it's the best movie of 2012.

I think 12 nominations for Lincoln and 11 for Life of Pi is a little too much. Silver Lining Playbook got couple of nominations. I haven't even heard of Beasts of the Southern Wild which also has couple of nominations and how the hell Snow White and the Huntsman got in there?

Really liked Django, but I can see why it wouldn't get a best picture nod. This isn't a knock, and it is very Tarantinoesque, but it has a real B-Movie vibe about it which is obviously intentional. Still, I can see why the members of the Academy wouldn't nominate it.

You know, I don't normally like 'horror' films. They just don't do it for me, but this film had such a delightfully innovative take on the genre that it was very enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

Watched The Color of Money.

1) Paul Newman won the Oscar for his performance and no damn wonder. Anyone who knocks a player lifestyle can watch this movie for a dose of reality. Players don't flame out, they just get better and better. I can honestly say, I have NEVER seen a better representation of an Alpha Male than Color of Money Eddie Felson.

2) Ever since I saw Scarface for the first time I've been head over heels in love with the young version of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and she doesn't disappoint here at all.

I just watched Zero Dark Thirty and it was motherf**kin* awesome! It was so cool - the interrogation, the intel etc. Great movie, one thing though - they didn't show OBL's face How come?
