Yes Yes Yes we always need minis... Do you have these teams loaded in already? aside from the ones that Walrus_Sip has done we really need minis for every team you see in game with just a generic minikit. August always did his own which would save us a ton of time...

I am currently in the process of downloading/installing all your national teams - I can see there are plenty of generic ones.

I wouldn't say that there's any particular region I am interested in, but with the Asian Cup starting this weekend I would be happy to do some Asian teams

I actually have some Oceania minis that I made about a year ago, some would be out of date now, but I'm sure some would be useful.

even if the out of date ones are CLOSE they will be a huge help... August did a ton of the smaller asian nations, so I think you'de only need to work on the big guys.

Historic Tournaments dating back to the 1900 olympics and including FULL qualification
Current Youth Team Tournaments in the U17, U20, and U23 age groups including qualification.

Now this is something i always thought was giong too far. it multiplies the work that's necessary for all current "A" teams without much use (my opinion). Playing a historic world cup could be funny, thinking about ussr, gdr, czechoslovakia, upper volta etc., having hungary as a fantastic and usa and australia as quite poor teams and so on. it would be funny but it's so much work and even more difficult research. who played in the upper volta team 1966?
Youth teams would pretty much look like the A teams, just new names, faces, skills... it wouldn't be a much different experience to play with them, the players wouldn't look younger because of fifa's graphical limitations, but it would still be a lot of work.

Current Roster updates for every team in the world.
Kit updates. I'de like to get a list of every national team kit made from FIFA '05 onward and provide users with a CMP patch to import it. This would give them a quick and easy way to load any kitmakers kits in for any team in the world.
Alternative logos. Flags for every team would be nice and most are already made.

Now that's more useful. All the national teams of the world is a big project itself, and we could manage to get good graphics for each of them, even the smallest. Good kits, including goalkeeper kits, flags (not just their countries flags, researched original flags), adboards for even the tiniest pacific or caribbean nations. it's a lot to do until that.

Stadiums (this may be a dream). I'de like to get some more generic stadiums made like Makispla came up with. Changing the scenary around the stadium to make you believe you are in the Caribbean or South Pacific... or in africa, or in southeast asia... You get the point.

Very interesting topic. I often planned to learn how to make stadiums. We definitely need some smaller, 3000 people grounds with background scenery that makes you think you're playing on the bahamas or the faroe islands. 4 or 5 generic stadiums for regions should be enough to get that feeling. some east asian or caribbean stadiums do not only have a characteristic landscape around it but also very special stadium architecture that i'd love to play in with. playing a complete world cup qualification should really make you feel a difference between caribic, africa or central asia.
plus, i'm also sick of the euro and uk generics. it's just too (western) european.

I tend to agree there - I'd rather just get a wide selection of classic teams - say three or four of the best/most memorable teams from each world cup.

If the whole management thing were a lot better (like in football manager) then youth teams would be great, but I'm not sure it would be worth the work here.

There is value in each idea. and different people will attatch to them in different ways. I would play as the U.S. youth team because I enjoy looking at our future prospects... From there I would ask, who do they play?

If they play other senior international I'll feel like it's kind of a cheat, if I actually make the teams they qualified against, I will feel all warm and fuzzy inside when they win.

Historic cups is something I've always been very very interested in. Origionally I was going to start with the 1930 world cup and work my way up from there. Rosters for just about every team in history are available. If they aren't we can make some educated guesses. The research would actually be easier than you'de think. It's just a matter of doing it.

I would love to go back in the past and change the U.S.'s fortunes. Or for that matter even to last century and play with Wynalda, Lassiter (Sp?), Meola. I want to play with the U.S. team that has Alexi Lalas and Marcelo Balboa at the helm of the back line. I want to watch Jurgen Klinsman help knock us out of the '98 cup.

I can understand how different people feel about this that or the other... but I eventually want to do it all... It's something that would take years to complete... but bit by little bit it becomes a real goal.

hmm... personally i wouldn't have much use of a few classical teams. they had that in pes 4, too, i never played with them.
i'd only play classical teams if there were more teams, and smaller ones but... like i said it's too much work for some short fun.

but maybe we could just try it. start with a world cup season from somewhere not too long ago or too young... somewhere in the 60ies maybe. i have to admit i'm interested... though we shouldn't do it... hmm. i'm contradicting myself.

I don't know that I will be able to stay focused on it either but I do know that when I was 8 I had X-men Action figures, grouped them into different colors, printed out all of the old world cup results and recreated every single tournament with qualification just using the action figures. So... I'm a bit interested in it. I still remember it, switzerland won the world cup twice... Once as host and another time in the 60's I think.

I know the classic patch that was made had all the world cup finals up to '86 or something. I might be able to get a hold of those and with permission, just add qualification to it.

At any rate I am getting burned out just doing updates all the time... I'm going to continue to do updates but begin working on another project I think. I still need to take my time with it though.

Solomon islands and Fiji should be in the second pack... if they are not, you can find a link for them on the first page of this thread. I may have just missed putting them in the pack and can easily remake that pack to include them... Lemmie know if you find 'em.

If you want to talk Historical Teams. How about the first team to win the first ever official international football tournament.

Scotland 1884

Hopefully I can finish the other 3 teams from the British Home Championship soon... I will only make minor updates to them to complete the rest of the championships leading up to the 1908 Olympics.

EDIT --- on Second thought, I think I'll do a general roster for the british home championships so that I can use more players... This might help save time and you still get to use players from that era.

Been looking at some of the oceania teams, so far I have the following:

- New Solomon Islands Kits/minis

- Fiji Minis. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that Fiji's away kit is blue - I have this kit and mini for it, if you have some other source that says the Fiji away kit is black/white then I can easily make that mini.

- New Tahiti Kits, Minis

- New Zealand Minis

- Vanuatu Minis

I'll probably send these all to you once i've done minis for all the oceania teams.

It's actually the home kit if I remember right that is like a sky blue... the away is white/black. When Fiji's kits were made that's all that was put out so that's all I had to use... I would love fiji's light blue kit if you have one... just need to know who made it and make sure I have permission to release it.

If you'de like, go ahead and post all your kits in the comprehensive list of national teams thread... I'm sure there are a ton of people that would want to use them outside of just these patches.

Also guys I started some discussions here and on bigsoccer.com to hash out believable rosters for each team. I'm taking it slow and working my way through them at a fair pace but I also set up an easyboard site to help keep everything organized. The advantage of the EZboard site is that I can post as many times as much as I want and no one can tell me what to do. So anyway, I thought I would provide a link to that site since it has direct links to each discussion and the history of each lineup in a seperate post. You are welcome to register and post on there if you like but the site is meant to be an organizational tool so if no one ever responds I'de be just fine with that.

I'm pretty sure Fiji's home kit is the white/black one - I saw them play a couple of games in 2004 and they wore that kit for both games (and there wouldn't have been a colour clash).

And yeah, I have a blue Fiji kit that I made (everything I mentioned I made) last year for FIFA 06, not sure if it's entirely accurate, but I think it is pretty much right.

Also - what do you know about the Papua New Guinea Kit that you have, I have this kit:

as well as an away kit, do you know how up to date the kits in your patch are?

That papua new guinea kit (at least the away) is Makispla's... his home was down when I made the patch so I had to load in Augusts kit which is out of date as far as I know. Speak with Makispla to see what source he had for that kit. I really don't know but he did make it recently.

Finished with the second version of:

Uruguay

I'm really happy with this team. The roster is pretty good after some revisions and the new graphics really help out.

This patch adds Klash69's Fantasy Puma Home kit into the game. I chose this instead of their real kits since it is consistent with the Puma design and looks Frikin amazing. This is one of the best kits I've ever seen and I can't wait to play with it.

It also has his real away kit loaded in.

The uruguay flags are mine and the CONMEBOL flag is Makispla's

The minikits are Walrus_Sip's

You'll love this team... download it, play a match... use some of their youth players (like Cavani) and come back to rate the file a 5 out of 5 (or I shall attack you with a wet banana peel).
