According to Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, Lyon's Juninho may sign for Liverpool this summer. The article also mentions there's interest from Qatar and Japan.

Yes, he's a great FK taker, but I haven't seen him too much, he may be a bit slow/weak for the EPL... who knows....

Yes, you are right, Villa don´t sell big players because the don´t have big players, they maybe have 2 good players as much.

I don't know if yer just ignorant or plain stupid, surely u meant that as a joke.
So you've never the heard of the likes Agbonlahor, Young and Carew....they're all better then most of the players in the Liverpool squad tbh. Heck, even Laursen was better than Hyppia last season.

He is. I wouldn't believe the rumor though. He's 32 and don't think he'd be able to make much of a contribution. Besides, he's a CM....no room for him in that position, at Anfield.

Speaking of rumors, I had read, a few weeks ago, that Ronaldinho and Eto'o were to sign for Liverpool in a blockbuster. Some rumors, like this Juninho one, are highly speculative at best.

Arsenal set to hijack Liverpool's bid for Garreth Barry?

It appears that Arsenal has done us all a favor and is attempting to hijack our bid for Garreth Barry. Rafa's reluctancy to offer, atleast it appears this way on the surface, an extra GBP 2 million GBP was bound to lead to someone else stepping up. This saga has been at a standstill for a while now. Maybe this will finally lead to a speedy resolution to the problem...err, transfer.

The newspaper claims the player himself mentioned Liverpool as a destination, but it looks to me like he can't accept the fact that his career is almost over....

Don't want him....he's too old and like you said, too slow.

Even Hyppia would admit that he is well and truly on the decline and was merely thrust into the lineup, late in the season(when most of the important games were placed), due to injuries. Shifty Agger WILL be better than Martin Laursen this year! Agger's absence made A LOT of players look worse than they really are. And come on....John Carew?:rofl: No, have to disagree there.

Well, judging from the performances last season, Carew was better than Voronin at least....
Yes, you guys did miss Agger, but I thought Skrtel did a decent job covering for him, its when yer manager played Carra at rightback is when it all went wrong...

Carra was played at right-back because neither Finnan nor Arbeloa could counter an aerial threat anywhere near as well. Losing Agger was a very big blow and I think you'll see a Skrtel/Agger pairing will be much tighter. Hyppia and Carra just don't have the pace sometimes which is why they get exposed.

Maybe Carra isn´t the rock he used to be but he still good at marking, and Hyppia is trying to keep in team but i have to agree with you and say he don´t have the pace, did you see Hyppia in UEFA Champions semi-final against Chelsea?, he was a mess and fouled Ballack in the area making a stupid penalty.
(in my opinion he was one of the reasons we couldn´t reach the UCL final or run for the Premier).

Carew may have been better than Voronin, but I'd hardly say that he(Voronin) is/was remotely close to first choice. Carragher? If he does play, and it won't be as often as he used to, it has to be a CB because he's shown, even for England, that he isn't exactly comfortable at RB. I think that it will be crucial that our backups stay healthy so that they can be called on when necessary.

On a side note, Benitez says that he expects more signings in the next 2 weeks and to make some progress with some of them this week. Juventus may be giving up on signing Xabi Alonso. Paul Ince is looking to bring Pennant to Blackburn.

We need a midfielder who can play in left wing and a team up for Torres, so we need Barry and Keane, i think they will fit well if Benitez sing them.

I don´t want Alonso to leave the club, he is a very good centre midfielder.

I thought that Craig Bellamy would fit in really well, but he just didn't. Although Torres wasn't around at that time.

Juventus have ended interest in Xabi Alonso.

It is confirmed that Arsenal may make a move for Garreth Barry.

"There is no greater club than Liverpool." reported Liverpool target Borja Valero, currently with Mallorca, stated. Couldn't agree more. He's a CM too...replacement for Barry?

Arsenal are reportedly considering making a move for Xabi Alonso since he is a bit cheaper than Garreth Barry, so it looks like he might end up leaving after all.

Steven Gerrard picks up a groin injury and is out for 10 days. He has returned from the team's pre season trip to Switzerland for treatment.

Inter Milan is saying that they might target Xabi Alonso if they don't get Frank Lampard.
