Rafael Benitez today confirmed Liverpool are in discussions with other clubs regarding Albert Riera.

Benitez said: "We are working with different clubs trying to find a solution at the moment and we will see what happens.

"I said we will deal with this internally. We will try to do some business if we can."

Frankly, I don't believe a word of that rubbish. Same with Gerrard. Same with Mascherano. They simply can't be believed, unless they prove it by signing a contract BEFORE the end of the season like Pepe Reina did. In my opinion, its only a matter of time before they (all 3 of them) put in a transfer request. I think it will happen sooner rather than later......

BTW, "apparently" Chelsea's most-wanted list, for this summer, looks like this:

So we beat Sunderland 3-0. The match stats:

It was shocking that we didn't score more than 3. That first half was our best half of the season.

Our season is basically over. Man City are now in the driver's seat to get 4th place. We are likely to get passed by Villa and are within striking distance of Everton. We could finish in 7th.

I'm depressed. I'm bitter. What more can I say.

Rumors are that Mourinho is lining up a 28 mill Euro bid for Gerrard. I wouldn't be surprised if Torres stays but then puts in a transfer request during the Jan 2011 transfer window.

Our season is over. If Rafa isn't back, I'll say what I said before........I want Martin O'Neill.

1. Pepe Reina has signed a 6 year contract extension. He has committed his future to Anfield until he is 33.

2. We are entering a VITAL phase for Liverpool Football Club's ownership situation. The asking price by Hicks and Gillett is unrealistically high.

So we couldn't beat a horrible road team Fulham. No Torres who was rested after a knee problem during the Benfica game 48 hours earlier.

People just need to admit it.......that mickeymouse tournament has cost us 4th place.

Martin Broughton has been approached, with the British Airways chairman considering forming part of a restructured board at Anfield.

Barclays Capital, the bank's investment arm, will head the latest attempt to find a new buyer for the club.

Co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are ready to step down as co-chairmen.

The Americans believe that by presenting a united front, potential investors are more likely to be found.

British Airways boss Martin Broughton will oversee the sale of the Anfield club, which is £237m in debt.

Rogan Taylor, who founded ShareLiverpoolFC - where fans would pay £500 for one share with the idea being to run the club along the lines of Barcelona - believes stumbling blocks still remain in the way of the proposed sale.

"The real problem is the price they want - they've piled a lot of debt onto the club and the effects on the pitch have been obvious this season," Taylor told BBC Radio 5 live.

"The question is are they going to be realistic in their valuation of the club - it's only worth what someone will give you for it."
