Yeah, always great being tied for most title in the league when we're throwing away matches... I for one don't care about the number of titles we've won, or United. It was never a reason I support Liverpool, and it won't make me less of a fan because we aren't holders of that anymore.

Thing is, Chelsea is miles ahead of us, and it showed today.

The real scary thing is that this season none of the top teams were anywhere near as good as they were last season, this season has been a catalogue of teams fumbling leads in the title race. Either that means the clubs snapping at the top four's heels have got better, or the top four themselves are weaker.

I think it's a combination of both. Liverpool's best eleven is much weaker without Xabi Alonso and Arbeloa. Also without Torres and Gerrard, the team doesn't seem to function. We've had the same situation with Rooney. Chelsea too, have been weaker this season and Arsenal were ravaged by injury.

I don't think Liverpool deliberately layed down today - I don't think a club with the tradition and ethos of Liverpool would stoop that low - if they did then Shankly would be spinning in his grave.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going soft on you - being a United fan that would go against the grain :innocent_smile_1:

I think we've been better than last season. But Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool haven't as good as the previous year, I agree. Players leaving had much to do with it, obviously.

I've just heard that Gerrard has applied for a court injuction, to prevent the media from reporting the fact that he has made pregnant a 16 year old girl. Also the injuction is being applied for, to stop the same media outlet, which I think is the NOTW, from exposing Mrs Gerrards "affair" with a Derby City football player.

This is from the same guy who told me about John Terry's injunction almost a week before the sh!t hit the fan for JT.

A precedent was set when JT had his application rejected, so I doubt Gerrard will suceed with his attempted news blackout.

Not good news for LFC if this turns out to be true. Not good news for the England camp either with the WC just weeks away.

Hang on. Someone here has just told me this news is a week old. Damn, I've really gotta get out more. Sorry 'bout that fella's.

^^^Well, he's apparently going to be leaving Liverpool Football Club because of it. He doesn't want to be associated with Liverpool Football Club anymore...........

Just don't expect me, atleast, to feel sorry for him. He can take his millions and his boxer-like and LEAVE! I'm sick of some of the things he does.

Let's all take a moment to commend Garreth Barry on his decision making. He chose Man City over Liverpool because THEY were going to win the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League.

Thank you Spurs............

BTW, I hope he gets well soon.

Yeah, why care about one of the few players who have actually played half decently for us in the last couple of seasons? let's just sell him and fill the club with Rieras and Insuas...

If the rumours about Benitez leaving and taking Torres with him are true, then we really need Gerrard. He leaves, and we're back to the early 90's. And there's no Fowler coming through the academy ranks...

Were he to leave, there's no guarantee that he would take Torres with him. Anyways, that's a highly fluid situation and could change in no time.

One other thing that is worth pointing out though. Look at the stats for the season. Lucas played in 35 of a possible 38 EPL games. For me, he emerged as a genuine central midfield option this season. He was thrust into the role and came good. There's still room for improvement but he even proved in Europe that he could get the job done.....and might even feature as a stop gap measure for one of the attackers. On a personal level, he's got to be disappointed to miss out on the World Cup but from a Liverpool point of view, he gets a full summer worth of time to recover and prepare for the next season.

He's stepped up and, if Rafa stays, offers numerous possibilities.

last season Liverpool were full of average players, the reason why they failed miserably. J. Cole is a quality addition. Now you guys have Gerrard and Cole. And when Gerrard is injured you can have J. Cole as playmaker. Not some average Benayoun or whoever.

Beaten down by City with three goals. I'm starting to think that Roy Hodgson was brought in too soon but it's too early to make conclusions like that.
