Romanov's shock bid for Liverpool's £5m Mo

VLADIMIR ROMANOV has turned his attention to a triumvirate of Liverpool's fringe players after being rebuffed in an ambitious request about £5.6 million midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.

The Hearts owner is keen to develop a link with Anfield after striking up a relationship with chief executive Rick Parry during Liverpool's Champions League defeat of Romanov's other club, FBK Kaunas, last summer.


The Evening News can reveal that Romanov's inquiry about the availability of Sissoko was instantly rejected and he has since focused his efforts on Anfield squad players Neil Mellor, Anthony Le Tallec and Djimi Traore.

NOT good! Lutons first goal I see as an offside, the second was just bad defending. The only good in the match to now is Gerrards goal!:)

5-3 FT I was getting the game on espn, best game i've seen so far this season in any league. Alonso sucked all game but had 2 great goals.

Xabi Alonso played well.... Hyypia was very bad today!!! way to slow!!!! I thought we were really goin to lose this one.... missed one penalty and 2 goals now and not playin well...i think we got lucky with Carson's foul...he could have seen the red card.... Sinama Pongolle really change our game..... he's really quick and has lots of talents.....The 2 Xabi Alonso'a goals were awesome....highligthts plz!!!!!! Finnan's and Riise's crosses are very good..

When Cisse missed the penalty and Luton scored on a penalty few minutes later I actually thought that we would lose. But I remember Liverpool scoring 3 goals in 7 minutes in May last year against Milan:p So why should we not manage to score just as many goals against Luton?:p
Could not believe what I saw when Pongolle scored the 3-4 goal!:D Great game by Pongolle, deserves a place in the starting 11!:D Alonso with 2 very nice goals!:D Lutons first goal was offside and the penalty should not have been a penalty but a freekick, because Carson tackles the Luton player ON the line:p well well, we won, that's the important thing!:D

The only thing missing now is that Manchester United lose tomorrow against Burton Albion!:D

hahaha lol...yeah i was thinkin about the Milan comeback too...when it was 3-1 i was sayin to myself.... how come we were able to comeback from 3 goals against Milan!!!! and we are struggling with Lutton... fortunately we fought back and in second half we were really better team!!!! Sinama Pongolle!!!!

Well the Luton goal was ONSIDE... he did well to finish it... especially with Finnan running back to the line to attempt to clear the shot.

Luton played well... took their chances to go 3-1 up... the penalty for Luton was a foul on Carson if u ask me... Vine stood on Carsons foot b4 diving into the box.

But Pongolle and Alonso were awesome in the 2nd half... Alonso's first goal was brilliant and then his 2nd... well... Gerrard didnt look happy that he took the shot instead of laying it off to the captain. Should have seen his face... started going off at Alonso then realised he'd scored and started to clap lol.
