wow, its been confirmed u guys got Keane. A bit of a suprise to tbh. Since it was just known that Keane had handed in a transfer request once u guys declared interest in him. He's better than Barry but I don't think he's the type of player Liverpool really needs. I'm much happier playing Liverpool with Keane than Liverpool with Crouch.

I have to agree with Zakov. I'd rather see Keane in the Liverpool attack than Crouch. Crouch has been hugely underestimated by Benitez, and to be honest I think he was mad to get rid of him. I've always regarded Keane as a bit of a let down, and I'm surprised that Rafa thinks that Keanes got what Liverpool need. Yeah, I'd have Crouch over Keane anyday.

Crouch wasn't used properly. Neither will Keane. 19 million is a rip-off!

Got 20 million from sale of players. Spent 32 million(includes 19 million for Keane). We might not end up getting any moer guys and that includes Garreth Barry.....

i rekon keane was a waste of money, seriously. i mean 19 mill? we should have spent that money on buying someone who plays in a position we actually need, like on the wing...

Jennifer Aniston....Late Show with Letterman.

Berbatov was his dream partner. Torres strikes me as being better on his own.

hehe, Berbatov was probably the best partner for him since the Spurs team was built around him and Berba.

For some reason, I reckon Torres can't make him as happy as he was when he was with Berbatov. :D

If Liverpool were to succeed I don't think he'll play a major part in it, he always struck me as a more skillful version of Bellamy with less pace.

20 million pounds for Keane that's way over the odds, considering you only paid 26.5 million for Torres who is twice the player. Be interesting to see how they go up top together.

hehe, after looking at the pictures, this thread has turned a bit gay...:D
joking, I wonder if Rafa's still going for Barry, it looks like he'll be staying at Villa, but if Liverpool come for him again, will he still be tempted? since he just won back his fans at Villa.

Well, Spurs replaced Keane with Bentley from Blackburn. Apparently, Blackburn may target Pennant to replace him, which would give Rafa some more money to go after Barry. However, Mark Hughes said that his targets were Tal Ben Haim and someone else; he did not mention anything about Pennant. Rafa STILL keeps saying that he needs to sell players inorder to buy Barry, but he hardly seems to be making any progress in doing that. He says that he STILL wants to sign Garreth Barry. Barry will probably stay another year at Aston Villa....after that, who knows.....

EDIT: UPDATE

Aston Villa say that Gareth Barry will be staying at the club and not moving to Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Villa claim the Reds failed to meet a deadline to sign the midfielder and now any move is off.

"During talks in the past few days, a final deadline to conclude this episode was set that all parties were aware of and agreed to," said a Villa statement.

"This deadline has now passed and so Gareth will remain with Villa."
