I am buying ESPN Football this year. Anything that has Mel Kiper rocks. After reading all of that I am considering not even bothering with Madden.

Also the best football game of all time was NCAA2K1 for Dreamcast. So many memories from high school of going to a school dance or a party or something than heading over to someones else house and playing that til the wee hours of the morning while all the chicks were in the other room talking about how crappy their hair looked or whatever non-sense that came from their mouths.

I'm gonna get Madden (though I lost interest for Madden '04 too quick), but since ESPN NFL game is 20 bucks, I can always sell some games I don't play anymore to try it out. Right now, I'm more looking forward to NCAA Football 2005, that game should be awsome.

I'll probably buy both... since it is only $20 bucks. :D I'll be able to make the Cards a decent team in any game. :D

im buying madden,

for one reason, replayability, ESPN is a great game, but bored me after season 1 or 2, it get sVERY repetetive, i loev Maddens owner mode, and so far Madden is the only sports game ive payed the full seasons it allows u to play.

the Off season mode is no where near as in depth as madden's

to be honest i will buy both, garanteed i will, and i hear the Xbox version has soem erious upgrades (H)

but i will only still be playing one game after football season is over. Madden :)

Right now, I want to go with Madden but once ESPN's game comes out, I'll rent it to see how good it is and then I'll decide. :p

EDIT: I bought a gaming magazine when I went to return some stuff today and it had a review of Madden in it. The guy who reviewed the game said that it might not be worth $50 if you already have the 2004 game. Supposedly, the new "hit-stick" on defense causes too many fumbles; the player models have been improved as has how the weather changes throughout the game. The magazine also had a preview of ESPN's game and it had a picture of Suzy Kolber talking to T.O. after during the Sportscenter broadcast; the preview of ESPN's game pretty much gave all the info that's already been posted here.

dude, it's called competition, in otherwords, do everything you can to outsell your competitor -- there's no law that says all competing products have to be priced the same.

19.99 is a brilliant move. I bought Madden 04. This time, I'm definitely buying ESPN 2K5 -- available July 20 in the states!

Why? (1) Because gameplay is just as good as Madden (2) to say "f*ck you" to the $50 game price in general, and (3) because EA continues to torture us with FIFA.

:rockman: Respect.

I won't be getting ESPN NFL (partly because it doesn't release in korea) but I will be getting ESPN NBA 2K5 for sure.

The grafix of Madden are just awesome, ESPN games are good but not great... yes it a little expensive 50$ but i think they are worthy.

Now Madden has a radio show during the week so you can heard all the news around the league, players changing attitudes that can affect the teams mood, the new mode that Stunna mention... it gonna be great.

Quality is quality and Madden is quality -- no argument from me there.

But c'mon everybody. Here's your chance to stick it to EA, the $50 MSRP for new games, and payback for crap FIFA -- all at once.

I say REVOLUTION gamers!!!

ESPN 2K5 is just as good as Madden in the gameplay department. Further, if you think the Madden radio show is good, read about all the extra Sega stuff, including the crib, where you can now lay Carmen Electra (in the special M-rated version of the game).

To repeat -- revolution! Stick it to the MAN, lay Carmen Electra, and save $30!:rockman: :hump:

I'm starting off with Atlanta as soon as I get my sticky palms on this soon to be a classic game, Carlos. Tell me, I'm I taking the easy way out here? I mean, there's the obvious franchise player in Vick, the receiving core is dynomite, but other than that, they need quite a lot of upgrading in the offensive line and defensive front section.

My brother is calling me a Goddamn pussy because he feels that ATL are already a made team that only need some minor tinkering....maybe I'll go with Detroit or San Diego then...hmmm

ATLANTA is in a division with Carolina, the best defensive team in the NFC, Tampa is always dangerous and the Saints have a pretty good offense.

To me Atl only have Vick and maybe Price, but that's it... dunn sometimes can run, and TJ well he pounds guys, but this is a game. So its fair enough for me if you take them.

I'll take the Dolphins (H)

nah, our defense will probably be our strength this season. The rating I saw for the Raiders' D is 86 according to the video someone posted in this thread. With Sapp and Ted Washington upfront, it'll make things a lot easier for the rest of the guys.

86  you guys don't have a good secondary or Linebackers... please....... :kader: i mean, only Phillip Buchanon and Sapp are worthy on that defense. Well maybe, the panthers, ravens, patriots and miami will have 93+ ratings

Buchanon
Sapp
Washington
Parrella
Harris
C. Woodson
R. Woodson (he may be old but he's still pretty good)

I would consider those our best defensive players. Better defensive teams usually have ratings of 89 or more so 86 sounds pretty reasonable.
