Keano had good reasons to do his tackle and he wasn't the one that started it. While Duff did it just to help Chelsea in the title race (like they wouldn't win without that incident ) and to stop Ronaldo from nutmegging him again and again.

Obviously he didn't, Duff just got frustrated that Ronaldo was schooling him with his tricks like you see in the school yards and Duff couldn't answer with whatever move he had, that's why he just got frustrated and decided to stop Ronaldo one way or another, and the fact that it could help Chelsea was a bonus.
