I am one of the few who value Fellaini's attributes. His physical presence and aerial wins are very important. He is slow and lazy but good defensively because of his build. He also gives stability to the midfield and contributes much more than Cleverley. That being said, he is way too inconsistent and still not good enough to be a starter.

Against Bayern he was horrible in the air and even worse defensively, even Nani would have more mettle

I actually agree with Nady here. Fellaini is a very good player. I don't know why Moyes can't seem to utilize him at United when he was so effective with Everton, but for some reason it hasn't worked out so far. Part of it, I suspect, is that Fellaini had a poor run of form early and the manager kept him out of the side because of fan pressure, which probably hurt the player's confidence.

He played a different role at Everton ... he mostly played behind the striker and was effective in counter attacking football and corners. I have to admit he played really well in one of his early matches in United shirt against Bayer, then the downfall started after City match.

Scholes made a great point the other day ... he said Fellaini is good at certain things and he doesn't have certain qualities ... it's obvious he is not a best playmaker or ball winner but he doesn't use his best abilities at United ... he didn't score for United yet ... he doesn't participate in attack as much as he can ... he doesn't go to box and he's not as useful in corners and set pieces ...

I think his best position is playing behind the striker and we already have Rooney, Mata, Kagawa, Adnan, Welbeck and even on load Powell ...

Not sure about that, he himself seems to think otherwise and has stated it a couple of times.

I didn't really watch him a lot at Everton or their games in general, but i think the reason why he excelled there in the AM role was because their tactics were mostly built around him. Lots of long balls/crosses being played to Fellaini, with him winning headers and using his physical strenght for keeping the ball so others could make runs etc etc. He did quite well there like that.
Now i definitely wouldn't like to see us playing like that when we've got lots of better players for that position as you already mentioned. But i don't think it would ever be an option really.

He was brought in to play as a defensive midfielder, I just think he's not fully accustomed to our system yet (we don't even have a stable one to be honest), and he's had quite an injury-filled season so far, which clearly hasn't helped. But he has the ability and should be doing a lot better, that's a fact.
And not to forget, the whole team has been playing poorly this season.

Agree 100%. Anyone who watched Everton games on a semi regular basis for the last couple of seasons (as I did) cannot deny what a hugely influential player Fellaini was across the pitch, scoring against the best defenses in the league. Moyes has mishandled him from the beginning (signing him as a last resort when he couldnt get other unrealistic targets hardly made the player feel needed from the start) and did not make clear what his role at the club was - was he brought in as an anchorman or to support the attack? He can do both effectively, but he needs to know which. Injury didnt help, adjusting to a rickety squad didnt help, dropping him at key points didnt help. Fellaini is not Yaya Toure, but he is definitely good enough for a Champions League club - in fact, I dont retract my desire to see him at Chelsea last season and I am sure he would have slotted into our side far more speedily. He probably needs fitness training to raise him to the higher pace of playing for a big side, but he should have got that from the get go - Schurrle got it at Chelsea and is blooming. If Fellaini crashes and his reputation is damaged by the Moyes debacle, it will be yet another bad thing Moyes has done for football.

Rooney hurt (H)

This might help us. Rooney is nowhere as good as he is hyped to be. A lot of the time he ends up hurting the team by running around like a lunatic leaving gaps everywhere.

Rooney is by far your best player and your most likely hope of getting the shock early goal you need to make things interesting.

Trust me, he's not.

Mata, RVP and De Gea are all better than him. I'd fancy Welbeck to score an important goal over him at the moment.

He's dropping too deep and has no discipline. He has absolutely no consistency. He might be a decent player, but he's had a terrible year and is worth about half of what he's paid. He can still pull one out of the top drawer but he rarely effects a game as much as he used to.

He is being played too deep by Moyes and is being used as a support act for a mediocre (this season) RVP, when he leads the line (for example the West Ham game) he is back to his old, dominant self. He is a game changer and a match winner, plain and simple. Alright, De Gea has been the star of your season but I would take Rooney over any of your other outfield players.

I'll trust the guy who watches every Man U game instead of a guy with no home internet in British Colombia where the typical game begins at 3:00am local time. How are you watching these United games, Sir_Didier_Drogba?

He is still our most important player. The problem is the manager's tactics. Moyes is not using him properly.
