They shouldn't be playing in the same position. Rooney needs discipline and to stay further up the pitch.nady;3654423 said:Maybe he is "not as good enough anymore" as you say but he is still productive. 15 goals and 10 assists in 27 games is not bad for a player who is "poor" or "not good enough anymore. He is certainly more productive than Ozil who cost 40 millions and has 4 goals and 8 assists and plays the same position.

1. Who of all United players have been good this season against big sides? No one. Not even van Persie or Mata. So don't blame him alone.
2. Rooney is overpaid. I agree with that. If we let him leave, would we have gotten a replacement? Who is gonna play for a europa or no europe team? A replacement of similar quality would have costed 40 millions and salary of 250k. E.g. Ozil. Who is not better.
3. He scored quite a few in big games bar this season. Liverpool and Everton are games he always struggled in but he scored quite a few against City or Chelsea.
I agree with the leadership part. He shouldn't be captain.
He is not the kind that would score every game. He is not a poacher. He plays a different role.
