Transfer news: Manchester United make £27million Luke Shaw bid, say Sky sources

Very overpriced but he's 18 and is an amazing defender. I watched the first half of Southampton v/s United and Januzaj was useless against him. He's been great every time I've seen him. Amazing news if its true. "skysports sources" are usually highly reliable.

I wonder who is behind this move though?! The Glazers look like they have no clue about football and certainly not Giggs, who is manager only for the short term. Woodward?

Yep, they were too good to be playing him at the time. And pique to good to be left rotting on a bench. Rio and Vidic were something else till around 2011.

We had such a good defence, the trio of Van der sar, rio and vidic lead to that 1,311 minutes without conceding world record in 2009. You cant forget how fantastic Evra was too.

now look at us... Jones, Smalling, Evans, Buttner and that's with De Gea saving there asses.

Pique was 3rd choice and would have been playing regularly now but he'd have to be sitting on the bench for at least 1 season or 2 and would have missed out on World cups, euros etc.

I'm pretty sure we'll get reinforcements because 3 defenders are leaving.

You will get reinforcements, but good CB reinforcements are hard to come by.
