the last time United were scary, chelsea were not a CL club so I had no expectations from matches against them anyway. Scary does not mean they might beat you, it means they might humiliate you.

Louis van Gaal expects Victor Valdes to leave Man Utd.

"He is not selected because he doesn't follow our philosophy and there is no place for that one player," Van Gaal said.

Looks like 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 with Carrick-Schneiderlin-Mata midfield. I like Mata in midfield. We have not seen much of Mata as an AMF just behind Rooney.
