So we are two points behind, and have three away matches ahead (out of 5) and one of them is against The City. Fantastic.

I hope we fight till the last seconds.

We were gutted without our Wonder Boy talisman, and now on Wednesday not only are we still going to be gutted over him, we're also going to be hungover from today's loss.

Let's all enjoy our last 3 days in the Champion's League now, boys.

I was hoping that maybe Berbatov can finally step up to the big games, but it didn't happen, like you said he dropped too deep and there was no target man upfront. And i'm afraid it won't happen on Tuesday, until we put Macheda upfront, he just always seems to end up in some good position to get the goal.

I'd argue that Berbatov was starved of service due to Nani not starting. Once Nani came on, the front man got the service. That's 3 in 3 for Kiko now isn't it?

I've cooled down just a bit now, I'm still angry as hell, but I guess we have to look at ourselves first and foremost.

Probably only one of the 3 was a legitimate striker's goal. The one against Sunderland came off his arse and this one ricocheted off his chest.(Possibly with the aid of his hand).

He's no where near the quality of Utd's other strikers, even Owen.

Well he's just 17 or 18 you know, we'll see in a few years... besides that he was in the right position, if it wasn't for Cech's half interception he probably would have tapped it in as he was keeping Terry (I think) behind him.....

Dissapointed but no worries boys there are still a couple of difficult games left for the top three, there will be more twist and turns in the run in, as the Spurs and Liverpool are still fighting for the last CL spot, especially Liverpool could do us a favour....we must win our last 5 games though

My opinion is that Bayern are even more riled up after that victory. Winning with 10 men against your closest title rivals will only serve as a psychological boost going into the game against Utd.

Not to mention the fact that they know they won't have to face Rooney and have a game-changer in Robben themselves fresh from injury.

It's going to be tough, but Berbatov has to pick up his game. Carrick should come in at the expense of Scholes. Valencia and Nani on the wings, with Carrick supporting Park and Fletcher.

The problem against us was that Berbatov dropped too deep, and when Utd were attacking there was no box-to-box midfielder carrying a run forward.
Fletcher was too occupied with Lamps, Park dragged out wide and Giggs lacks the pace, Scholes doesn't have the same attacking ability he had 6 years ago.

I feel that Nani will be the key against Bayern, the only problem is whether he turns up.

Nani is the only guy I'm actually scared of. I don't watch a tremendous amount of Premiership games, and even fewer Man U games (can't stand you guys), but from what I've seen recently I've been VERY impressed. He could slice apart our defense.

Our starters were "involved", sure, but I don't think you're right about how tired they are. Demichelis came on later, Olic and Ribery came off early, Robben didn't play, Gomez came on later. If you're relying on fatigue from Lahm, Badstuber, van Bommel and Schweinsteiger I gotta tell you I don't think that's going to be enough. Those guys don't really get tired, plus Schweinsteiger missed the first leg anyway, so he had some rest a week ago.

Reports that Rooney could be called up to play?? seriously, talk about putting a player at risk if he really set foot on the pitch

Nani has definitely been the creative force in United recently, and for once, he's actually lived up to the expectations. His problem seems to be, that he's too inconsistent.

Especially against a team featuring van Bommel. There would definitely be an ankle stomp when no one is looking.

I can't see SAF risking Rooney for this game, we just need one goal and a tight defence...it wouldn't suprise me to see him back in the next league game though, but the CL is too early for Rooney, SAF ain't that desperate (I think)...

But on the other side this could just be wishfull thinking from the press as all they care about is the WC......

Actually I'd love to see Rooney play just as a f*ck you to the press and their precious England! And above all else it seems we do indeed rely on him (which does seriously need to be addressed)

And Scholes is a thug because of the intent both times. Malouda was lucky not get injured there, it was a vicious slide.

lol a thug. old man Scholes, 5ft 7 midget, the essence of violence and brutality, every man quakes at his fiery red hair and thuggish behaviour, ready to explode at any given moment. Give the man a Asbo! What's that famous saying, Football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans lol.

you make me laugh out loud with your comments sometimes.

Anyhow... what a terrible first half that was. Glimmer of hope in the second, we pretty much dominated them from the word go in the second half. Sadly too little too late.

Park for me was one of the best players on the pitch from us. Anyone noticed when he went off how much more possession Chelsea started getting.

We should of played Nani, park and Valencia from the start. No point dwelling on it, hopefully Liverpool will play there best and make a statement that there team isn't all bad.

We really need a new striker, berbatov is silky at times but he's really been lacking a bang, playing too deep etc. He's defo more of a play maker now, which he does well. How many times has he scored against a big teams or important matches? Even 18 year old Macheda has scored more in massive matches.

Something will need addressing there in the future. All eyes too Wednesday now, sadly I can see is losing there. I hope SAF pulls some extreme tactics and plays some younger players from the start. Berbs supporting macheda maybe.

No, we do not need just one goal...at least we cannot afford to think like that.

We are in a very dangerous spot, we could be up 1-0 for majority of the game, feeling good, and then we give up a cheap goal late and we're out.

We need to go into the game with the mindset of scoring as many goals as we possibly can. Even if we were up 2-0 I'd hope SAF would push for the third.

Might as well risk Rooney if he is able in my opinion, Wednesday is our entire season.

only person to blame here is fergie. i an not fathom why he would start with neville, scholes and giggs against the likes of chelsea, a physically powerful team. fletcher isnt going to be able to put in the work needed since he is a skinny ass rake. so our entire midfield save park was suspect from the off.

i would have much rathered seen ando and carrick rather than giggs and scholes. with park and valencia converting from 4-5-1 to 4-3-3. shame really, i aint seen carrick and ando in a while, are they injured or something? hell i would of taken gibson over scholes simply for his physical presence.

Anderson blew out his knee, he is done for the season...don't know about Carrick, I think he played in Munich.

We should throw everything we have into CL. We are pretty much out of the league but if we can steal a win on Wednesday and Rooney is healthy for the semi-final I still think we will make it to the final...but it's gonna be damn tough to beat Barca.

5 games left, Chelsea have the lead and they control their own destiny. The league has been placed into their hands and they are not going to slip up now, they are scoring goals at will and they should have tons of confidence after beating us at OT.

Plus, we will almost surely lose at City...so even if Chelsea do slip up against 'Pool, we will still not be able to make up all of the points.
