To be honest, it's very hard for United to cope without Rooney (He eventually felt the void of Ronaldo and Tevez).

Just Look at Messi and how he wins almost every match for Barca, Rooney had the same effect for us.

I'm sure you mean Arsenal because we're already through with City.

Yeah got confused there. Thanks for the correction.

Our tactics were centered around him and now he got injured at the most crucial time of our season. Without him, we'll have to use different tactics and its hard to use different tactics against big teams like Chelsea or Bayern. Didn't work well against Chelsea at home... I'm sure we'll field a young fresh team tomorrow since Neville, Scholes and Giggs all played against Chelsea. My prediction is this formation:

---------------VDS----------------
-----------------------------------
-Neville*---Vidic---Ferdinand---Evra
-----------------------------------
----------Carrick---Fletcher--------
-----------------------------------
Valencia--------Park-----------Nani
-----------------------------------
-------------Berbatov--------------

*Neville at Right Back is a bit worrying considering the number of games he's played for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure if Rafael will be up to it and O'Shea and Brown will most probably be missing to injury. I'm sure Bayern will exploit our RB position as our weak link... They've got 2 worldclass players that they can use for this task. We do have a brilliant team, but it will be extremely hard since we'll be playing differently since we are missing our key player. Let's keep our fingers crossed though. I know WE CAN do it.

Btw, Fergie said that he won't be buying much this summer and said again that he's "happy with the team". He said that he's got some plans in mind though. TBH I'd prefer if we bought maybe 1 or 2 young emerging players rather than actual stars. Players like Gourcuff, Dzeko, Mata or Jovetic come to mind.

If SAF doesn't throw big money into the transfer market this summer I will lose every single ounce of faith I have left in him.

What in the blue **** was the point of selling Ronaldo for $130 million if we weren't going to use the money to bring in new, good players. We might has well have given him to Madrid for free.

Making an offer on Gourcuff should be priority number one for SAF this summer. It is blatantly obvious that we need more creative attacking players who can score at any moment.

I mean how much more obvious can it be, if Rooney is not on the field we cannot score goals, plain and simple. At least not consistently.

I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. I'd hate to say it but part of me almost hopes that Bayern roll over us. I almost feel like we need to be punished for our foolishness of not improving the offense last summer.

I also hope Robben has a great game against us to show how stupid we were for not trying to buy him last summer.

Have faith english mates(Y) Your second leading striker might yet come through for you, yes Mr. Own Goal!!

This is very sad for Berbatov that he is getting beat in scoring by own goals. That really proves how worthless he has been for you.

BTW where has Macheda been all year long, I for sure expected to see him in a few of Fergie's team sheets this year. I guess maybe he would have figured more in the FA cup, it's a shame because given a few more first team games he could have developed enough to be a big help in this crucial time. That being said, from the highlights of chelsea, he looked more dangerous than Berbatov did...

Good luck tommorrow english mates, hope to see you in the final once more(Y)

just wow, are you sure you are even a man utd supporter? are you looking for a big spree like manc went on or chelsea? never going to happen. at most fergie has paid out 1 record fee every few seasons and regardless of what the critics say the entire team was never made up 30,000,000 pounders. last summer we were looking at forking out over 45 million pounds for talent coming out of then B leagues(read french) and a recession had just started. its still a business and that was crazy money.

I wouldn't blame Fergie for not using the Ronaldo money. If we don't use the Ronaldo money at all, I'd blame the Glazers for plunging us in debt. Its hard for a debt ridden club to keep up in a highly inflated transfer market. Can't blame fergie there if he's being cautious about transfers.

As much as I would like to blame the Glazers, there have been reports that SAF has access to all of the Ronaldo money for transfers. Also there was that report that he was going to be given 100 million for players this summer.

The problem is that SAF keeps saying that he hasn't spent because he has not found any good players worth the money, and if he really believes that he is just an idiot.

There are tons of players that we should be going after this summer...Gourcuff, Benzema, Silva, Lloris, Robben, Villa, Ribery, not to mention Cole and Chamakh on free transfers. Obviously not all of them, but we should be trying for some combination of a few of them.

Help?

Ferguson is the most successful manager, he built 5 successful teams, give the man a break, I'm sure he had good reasons why we didn't go for those guys.

Marc van Bommel doesn't like surprises.

Haha, apparently Rooney trained yesterday after the journalists left, so their is no way somebody could have known, besides that SAF wouldnt risk Rooney if he wasn't fully fit......

Chamakh will really be a free agent next summer?? what a bad deal by Girodins!

Yeah I guess he has already been linked with Arsenal...but since he would be a free transfer we need to go in for him for sure
