I would love to have Aguero, and would love to get rid of Berbs, so if there is any truth to that possible deal I would love to see it done.

I do hope that Nani gets a chance to shine this season, I think he has it in him to be a fantastic player...but I don't think he will ever be what Ronaldo was, and is, Ronaldo is bigger, stronger and faster.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hunterlaar coming. Otherwise I think we're covered.
Berbatov will have a good season this year I think.
I also think so and really hope it happens. This will surely shut up all the Berbatov haters here. Seriously that's getting very annoying.

Yes, he is a Man Utd player and seems to be committed to the club so we should get behind him - personally as I've said, I think he'll come to the fore this season.

Berba at his best will be an amazing player, it just seems fashionable to have a go at him at the moment.

Really? You'd give 20 million plus Berbatov for Aguero? A striker that's first of all not proven in the Premiership, has no true experience in European competition (Berbatov has played 2 Champions League finals) and doesn't have a much better scoring record statistically? There's no way he gets close in assists. The only thing he has is a younger age and that's another reason why he's not anywhere near worth 50million.

I'll say it again, IF Berbatov is told to play further up as an actual striker this season, he'll deliver the goods.

BTW, how often do you watch Atletico play?

There was a time when Ronaldo and Messi weren't proven either.

Aguero had 20 goals and 10 assists in 37 games for Atletico this past season, not too bad for a 20 year old kid...and at United he'd benefit from being around better players and a better manager. And at only 21 years old now, he would be a good investment and could give the club many years of great play.

The only thing that concerns me a bit is that he is kind of small, only 5'7" so he'd probably get pushed around a lot by Premiership defenders, but I think he has the skill to overcome that.

Aguero wont get pushed around by anybody, take a look at him-his arms are bigger than Rooney's. He is infact very powerful looking.

The number of players who are supposed to be the "next big thing" and don't quite become that is a lot larger than the ones that do. 50 million is too much of a gamble for Aguero.

United wouldn't be gambling 50 million, where are you getting that number? They'd be gambling 20 million and Berbs...and Berbs is next to useless as a striker so they'd basically be gambling only 20 million. I'll say Berbs is worth 10 million, so United would be giving up 30 million for Aguero. They gave up more than that for Berbs, and on the surface Aguero would seem the much better investment than Berbs ever was.

They will never give Aguero up anyway so we are wasting our time arguing about it.

Why not sign sneijder??? you could use a good midfield playmaker like he running your midfield...

You're so clueless it hurts. Notice how this season was Berbatov's lowest scoring since 2002-2003 in Leverkusen. Also notice how this season is probably the first in his entire career where he's been made to play very deep, almost in midfield. DO YOU THINK THAT THE 2 CORRELATE? POSSIBLY? IF Berbatov is allowed to play as a proper striker HE WILL SCORE GOALS. I hope that wasn't too far over your head.

I'm getting the 50 from the fact that we payed 30 for Berbatov and he hasn't even been used in his proper position yet. I think it would only be fair if we first give him a chance to show his ability by playing as striker before we decide he is ****.

You know if we are going to bring in another striker..i dont want it to be a diminutive one. Aguero has alot of potential but he is still unproven plus we already have owen who is similar. I hope we get a striker who can lead the line especially in european games(away) where we adopt the 4-5-1 formation. Benzema wld have fitted the bill. But SAF knows whats best for the club.

You think you sound smart by saying Fergie asked a 30M striker to play deep, constantly??!!

When the main reason he brought him was because he had a problem with Tevez doing the same thing??!!

Get it together man.

I would be so happy if we did, but it doesn't seem likely. Real have just given him the no10 shirt so I'd think it's unlikely that they're thinking of selling him in any case.

The money + Nani for Aguero rumours have hit the papers today, it would make no sense to get rid of Nani - he needs a decent run in the team to prove himself. The papers do say that Atletico want Berba as part of the deal instead though.

Of course, the really silly stories will come tomorrow morning, the Sunday papers are notorious for it.

On a side note, I love our new training shirts!

Well...Athletico have quashed the rumours. We didnt put in a bid for aguero and they are not selling him either.

Didn't we already have this argument? There's absolutely no logical explanation for Berbatov to choose to play deep just because he has transferred to Manchester United. None at all. He was told to do it and that's that. People don't randomly change their playing position at the age of 28. Think a little.

BUT, let's say you're right. Berbatov chose to play deep. He's a professional striker, he can follow instructions. IF Sir Alex didn't like what Berbatov was doing, wouldn't he tell him "play further up the pitch"?

Those are the 2 possible scenarios. Berbatov was either told to play deep or he chose to and Sir Alex actually likes it when he plays in that role. If the latter is the case, then we should just forget about Berbatov having to score goals and try to appreciate his other contributions to the team.

LoL you think a little, players change position at any time or age for differing reasons look at Giggs playing midfield, Scholes playing deeper or even Ronaldo playing further forward.

In any case I really don't know why Berbatov played as far back as he did but I doubt it had anything to do with Fergie. Also if Fergie had accepted that and liked it why didnt he start berbatov at AMF and notify the fans like he did with Smithy??!!

I feel him playing deep had something to do with his confidence in front of goal though as that took a battering during the season. Hence he moved further back where he felt he would be more useful.

Just a theory and it doesnt really matter. I would like him to leave but if he stays I wish he has a better 2nd season.
