You are clueless. Sure Manure gets bad starts but they don't lose to Burnley... You are trying to compare a loss to Citeh and Pool to Burnley. Seriously you need to wake up. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Manure finishes 6th this year. Missing your number one goal scorer and SAF actually thinks Rooney and company can pick up the missing goals from Ronaldo and Tevez. Let me know when he comes back from his delusional state. He might need to go get an attacking midfielder to play a 4-1-2-1-2 instead of the traditional 4-4-2. Look at your CM's, (Carrick, Scholes, Anderson, Fletcher, Gibson, Hargreaves) Not a one will come close to 10 goals. I would also be surprised if any of them actually got 5.

Nani, Anderson compare them to Denilson, Song and Diaby. They all came in to their respected teams in around 06/07. Sure Nani and Anderson saw action early and played defiantly better then the 3 Arsenal players but they haven't Progressed far since then while Denilson, Song have defiantly progressed by leaps and bounds. Song might be Top 10 players for their style. Can you say that for Nani or Anderson? Anderson isn't better then Denilson. Denilson will put balls in the back of the net and his positioning allows him to intercept many passes. Actually intercepted the most passes for Arsenal last season.

looks like you got so excited after few wins, I understand it, it's alot for a team which didn't win any trophy in years.

you will see United's power this saturday. Our beasts will destroy your virgin kids.

1. Did you watch the Wigan match? That result was VERY skewed. The first half could have well been a performance from any midtable team, and although you deserved to win in the 2nd half, I'd say you very lucky to score in those 5 chances. It really looked like Kirkland lost it after the first 2 goals, especially after having a very good first half. Quite like Chelsea's performances against Fulham, Sunderland and Hull should've been reflected by a 3 goal difference scoreline, the Wigan match should've been the exact opposite. But good on Rooney et al for showing some good finishing.

2. 4-5-1 means dominating possession and the midfield when it's applied in a team like ManU. Your 5 goals depsite not playing spectacularly against Wigan prove that you just need a few chances to tie a game up. Think of how many chances you'll get when you control the game completely? If given the chance and time, any of Owen, Rooney and Berbatov could thrive in a 4-5-1. Ferguson just doesn't like that formation, and it's understandable. Your midfield has depth but it's mostly filled with squad players, whereas the 3 strikers you have are all potential match-winners. Why bench 2 of them, that'd mean a loss of form and fitness for the majority of your strike force, or a loss of form for all 3 if they are constantly rotated.

Basically, you could score more goals in 4-5-1, it's not ridiculous, but it's not a formation that plays to your strengths.

We played 4-5-1 for like 3-4 seasons, mainly when Ruud was here. And that period was arguably our worst period in the last 15 years. The lone striker would be getting almost all the goals and if he wasn't up for the game or was marked really well, then our whole attack would be dead. The second we sold Ruud and switched to 2 strikers the goals started flowing. So i don't see how you can say that having 1 striker will get you more goals. United control the ball in midfield 60% of the time in most games as it is and teams usually park their bus near the box already. Didn't Chelsea started scoring much more freely, once they got Anelka to partner up Drogba upfront? If you want control of the game then 4-5-1 is probably better, but if you want chances and goals, nothing beats 4-4-2 or variation of it.

Tawalkana: It sounds like you are just here to start **** up and you want to badly prove that your team is better than United. We play each other in 2 days, so let's see who's midfield is better. But if you wouldn't be surprised if United finish 6th this season, then i wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal finished even lower, because your collective quality of players is not even close to ours. Which you will find out come mid-season when injuries start to hit and you will realize that Arsenal's squad is very thin and usually dies down by the 2nd half of the season. And a loss to Burnley or Pool is still a loss, we should have beaten Chelsea in the Community Shield if not for that **** face referee, what's your rational on that?

To anybody else that wants to question our quality, my advice is to keep quite if you don't want to look like a fool when the 2nd half of the season comes. Ronaldo was practically playing as a striker and he took a lot of goals on him, while not being that helpful in midfield, so i don't see your arguments about the problems we have in midfield. You think we'll have less creativity, well let's just wait and see.

I was saying that a 4-5-1 doesn't necessarily mean less goals, it could possibly mean more goals, but I also said it doesn't suit ManU. And not really. Anelka played on the right in a 4-3-3 formation, with Drogba the sole striker. Malouda, Anelka and Lampard ran at the defense, and it was when Anelka started producing on the right when the goals came pouring in. Had Joe Cole not been injured, he would've taken over at that role and I'd imagine the results would be similar.

Anelka and Drogs are only really parterning right now, we'll see how well that turns out at the end of the season.

Yeah compared to the other groups we got lucky, but especially CSKA and Wolfsburg could be a tricky one. Talking about tough...Liverpool wasn't that lucky :browsmiley:

I thought our draw was pretty hard actually.

CSKA have been looking very sharp, playing in turkey is playing in turkey and then theres Wolfsburg the Bundesliga champions.

They have had an amazing season. they equalled the bundesliga record of 10 successive victories and also for the first time had two star striker score more then 20 goals. They scored 54 between them.

That teams on a high, with a great record and the players to match. Are groups anything but easy.

All that being said, I still think we lucked out. We could've drawn a team like Madrid, Inter or Juventus from the second pot but instead drew CSKA, who has to be considered one of the weakest teams from the 8 second pot teams.

Point being, we should have no trouble winning the group.

Tevez claimed again that Sir Alex disrespected him and forced him to leave. I don't know what point he's going to prove with these statements, I think these comments will just make United fans against him.

He guaranteed that when he joined the bitters. Carlos Tevez is no longer an issue we should concern ourselves with.

yeah, he's not an issue for us. But it seems like United is a big issue for him. I bet he misses United so much but is not man enough to admit his mistake in leaving Old trafford and instead blames sky and earth.

Probably just trying to fit in - City are obsessed with us anyway.

Anyway we've just kicked off - wow I'm watching United live on TV again (about bloody time)

We're going 4-3-3. Fletch Giggs and Carrick in the middle and Nani, Valencia supporting Wazza up front. Anderson is on the bench.

10 Mins in. Both teams still sparring really, Fletch has had a half chance. Arsenal players are going down like bowling pins.

Good defending by Wes, first corner to Arsenal. Van Persie with it, Brown clears and we'll do it again.

Straight to Foster, but I'm not convinced by his handling - there's a definite David James vibe about it sometimes.
