Tevez: Berbatov was "The End"

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5402690,00.html

Oh dear, looks like Carlos was upset by the arrival of Berbatov - like he isn't going to face the same competition at any club. If these quotes are true, it's quite sad to hear them.

I'm hearing rumours that Nani is being offered in deals to other clubs - principally Wigan. I hope we don't get rid of him as I think he's the answer to the hole left by slave.

Why don't he understand that Berbatov was brought in to offer more tactical options up front, NOT to replace him.

In some games, Tevez was started ahead of Berbatov, when Fergie believed Tevez would be more effective than Berbatov. He played ahead of Berbatov against Liverpool at Old Trafford and Arsenal in a Champions League semi-final for instance. Playing in a team like Man Utd, you are bound to sit on the bench for some games.

That depends heavily on the player. Ronaldo,Ferdinand, Vidic did/do not bench.

But that's because their skill is way above everyone else's in the squad. Players like Tevez and Berbatov will always be rotated in a team like United. He's just too daft to understand that. He's also played more minutes than Berbatov, maybe even Rooney. WTF is he crying about? I'm honestly glad he's gone.

the fact of the matter is berbatov was always gonna be ahead in the pecking order. Rooney and berbatov was gonna be our 1st choice strike pairing. So tevez leaving was the right option for him with the world cup coming up next year.

Thats just ludicrous. I don't think fergie will offload. Nani has only been with us with 2 seasons. Hes young, talented and still has much to prove. Plus hes the best crosser of the ball in our team.

So it looks like Man U won't get Ribery even if he is going to be sold. So who is going to play RM now... Park actually plays defense which is a plus side but he won't pick up no more then 10 goals. Rooney and Berbatov can't pick up Ronaldo's scoring

Exactly. If Tevez played Berbatov games he probably still be at United now. Tevez and Rooney was working fine in 2007/2008 season. All we needed to buy was a backup striker like a fit Saha. We bought Berbatov now you wouldnt buy 30m striker for a backup/bench role. Someone was going to be unhappy.

Personally I hope we dont go for Alguera or Benzema as it would mean that Rooney plays on the left or Berbatov plays as third striker. Same thing all over again.

"Aguero" and Benzema, I hope we don't sign them aswell they're both unproven and very overpriced especially Aguero. What has he done in his career to be worth 60M? Absolutely nothing,Cerezo should be shot!

I suspect it's paper talk. Slave's transfer is all but done (it will go through on July 1st) - then Fergie can make his moves in the market.

Ironically, MUTV is showing the 2003 UCL match between United and Real that ended 5-3 (a match noted as Beckham's last European match for us and Ronaldo (original) scored a hat-trick and was applauded by the Stretford end)

I'll admit, the sooner Fergie gets back to work, the happier I'll be - then we might get news as opposed to speculation. Seriously forget the names being linked, Fergie has known slave was going for a year and there will be contingency plans being worked on.

If worse comes to worst - then I think we'd be alright with the current squad. Currently our best XI is this I think.

GK: Van Der Sar
LB: Evra
CB: Vidic
CB: Ferdinand
RB: O' Shea (Neville if fit)
RW: Park
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LW: Nani
SS: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

You gotta admit, it ain't bad - is it?

scholes and park? NO thanks. Park has lost his creativity and flair everysince he signed for us, just look at the CL final. Also Scholes is too old now.

That game was 4-3 don't belittle your team, leave that for opposing fans (Y).
It's seems like the effect of Ronaldo leaving are really starting to show. After the 2007-2008 season and most of 2008-2009 it appeared that you guys will not need to sign anymore players (Rafael & Fabio looked like replacements for Evra and Neville, Anderson for Scholes,Nani for Giggs, Evans for Ferdinand and Foster for the Tsar. Now after the 2009 UCL final it appears Nani and maybe Anderson are not good enough, Fabio and Foster are too injury prone.
To make everything worse Ronaldo is gone-albeit with $131 Million to spare-and so is Tevez (for nothing). the problem about losing Ronaldo is that even though you have that money you have lost a key player who you now have to replace, which is harder considering the disarray Madrid has left the market in causing everyone to be exorbitant in terms of player fees, plus that $131 Mill won't wear the number 7 for you next season. Replacing Tevez is not an issue, you already have Macheda and Welbeck (both genuine contenders for first team spots next season).
Still United bounce back from losing Beckham,Cantona and Munich '58 one more comeback is not out of the question.

Agreed...Plus, wouldn't Brown be the best RB option potentially? I just think Neville is too old and with the injuries he's been having, I very much doubt we'll be able to depend on him.

To be Honest was a better and more decisive player than them all and I am not even a big fan of him.
