You seem to be forgetting how injury-prone Owen is, there is a very good chance that he will miss major time this season. I honestly don't even count him among our regular players because he is so prone to be missing every other game through some ailment.
Plus Rooney is good for at least one significant injury per season, and Berbs has proven that he cannot score when he is the main man. It wouldn't be fair to throw all of the burden on Chicharito in that situation, at least having Rossi would give us another option.
I live by the philosophy that you can never have too many defenders and too many strikers, especially on a team like United where they are all so injury-prone. Ideally you want 4 dependable strikers on the team, and right now I feel like we only have two, Chich and the Wonder Boy.
