When you're at United and you're Ruud's striking partner there is no "time to improve massively" especially when he was hailed as England's newest and brightest star. You spent 40 million on him. Any striker who costs that much and needs excuses is a flop.

As for Saha, we're not talking about his goal-to-game ratio. We're talking about him being able to be there when needed. Talented fellow, I'm sure, but not United material IMO.

Ok, when you look at Rooney's stats after he joined United, it is not bad at all.

In Rooney United did not buy a recognised goalscorer (his goalscoring record at Everton can be regarded as poor). Rooney's ability is at running at defenders, beating players, and setting up goals. Goalscoring is part of his armoury, but not his only forte. And even if we judge him by his goalscoring record, it's 7 from 13 starts. That's better than 1:2. That's better than Dennis Bergkamp's entire Arsenal career goal:game ratio. So would you say Bergkamp is a flop at the North London club?

And now onto Saha. We're not talking about his goal-to-game ratio. So what the hell are we talking about? He's a striker, and he should be and will be judged by goals, which he delivers. Not there when United need him? That's called injury, of which I'm sure he didn't intend to carry.

I seriously urge you to think of some better points before you post again.

Well for starters, Manchester United didn't spend £40m on Wayne Rooney. United spent £10m in August 2004 and the other £10m will be due in August 2005 whilst the other £7m depending on what Manchester United win, good business by David Gill in my opinion. Wayne Rooney has added a new dimension to Manchester United's attacking play and for the first time in eighteen months United are actually playing some exciting football.

7 goals from 13 starts, are people expecting him to score in every game? He is still a kid and will only get better, also noticed he has lost quite a bit of weight recently.

Good point! Just the other day i was trying to find a picture of him to show to my friend that his stomach is like Shrek's, but out of all the lastest pics, i could find a single one where you could see his belly popping over his shirt. Rooney really lost some weight and gained some muscles.

Also bear in mind Rooney was a "supersub" for Everton until recently where he got some starts. Radzinski was the starting striker for Everton.

I take back what I said about them at first--them being "****ty." But I still don't think they're great players and, in Rooney's case, not worth the money.

I don't think Saha is a 'great' player either, considering that I think only a handful of players can qualify in that category.

As for Rooney. He's not even 20. You can't say that someone is great or not until he's achieved a few things more years down the line. Only time will tell.

Man U only need a DM and a left winger. Apart from that the team is solid all round. It generally is the best team in England, but the most injury plagued. If they can secure some kind of bargain in the winter and Saha is back, even without RVN they probably can overhaul milan.

United should buy van der Vaart. He will want to leave Ajax soon, and he would play well with Ruud.

Chelsea have Robben, Arsenal have van Persie, so United shoud get van der Vaart :p

Van Der vaart would be ok, but I don't think we need a full giggs replacement just yet, we just need an utility player.
A DM is more important since Keane is becoming very injury prone and seldom plays. Djemba has been useless thus far, but we can always alternate between wingers (Bellion, Fletcher, Ronaldo, Giggs).

VdV is playing like **** lately. I take back what I said some one year ago about this kid is gonna be great. He shows bad attitude as the team`s captain, and his performance is going downhill . . .
