And he said he would prefer to go to, in order, Real Madrid, Arsenal or Juventus (both tie).

And his favourite player is PV4.
We had our chance? You're acting like it will never happen again. Reality check, we are a bigger club than Arsenal and we're better than them, bigger AND better.

Besides, we might be able to pay more for him than Arsenal, so flutter away butterfly.

Not only is it a fallacy to assume some player will never sign for your club because he has an "order of preference", its even more absurd when a player thinks they have been snubbed by a club not signing them years ago. Unless, its completely flagrant, and a club withdraws from negociations after it looking like a sure thing, and, say the player has embarrassed themselves publicly, i dont see why a player should ever have such an attitude. Who knows if all this crap about Essien is true, but i recall only a short while ago, Eto'o claimed he would "punish" chelsea for not signing him in the summer. As if, because sky sports or NOTW or goal.com said that the team were intrested in you, they had an obligation to sign you? What a joke. Players taking such "well, they couldve signed me back when i was some worthless 17 year old nobody that showed a glimmer of talent" attitudes should pull their heads out of their asses, and be thankful that such huge clubs actually want them

Reality chec, Juventus and Real Madrid are a bigger club than Manure. Sure he could go to your club but he's more likely to go to the 3 clubs mentioned above. Though I don't think Arsenal will go after him since now his price range is pretty damn high.

Reality check, he said that he would prefer to go to the epl. Reality check he said the EPL suits his style most. Reality check he said he's most likely to go to an EPL club.

Reality check, you and the rest of the ABUs need to stop trying to spoil our fun, it's a utd thread and we can gossip about any potential transfers we want regardless of how realistic it is therefore we dont need you or any other ABU to constantly pop in our thread with your negativity and constantly trying to prove us wrong or what ever it is you're trying to do.

Have a nice day.

Depends on whether you look at the thropies, current form, money, fans, stadium, players etc.

Exactly what i was thinking. Just a generic comparison, looking at the totality of fan base, history, etc, my opinion is that United is a bigger club than Juve. If your gonna go on fanbase and fame, currently, Man U are the biggest club in the world (see the RvN quote about the "inconmprehensible" size of the club) but one has to give the nod to Real or Juve purely on footballing prowess. Anyway, with different leagues, its like apples and oranges

Real Madrid and Juventus overall are both bigger clubs than United, it's not rocket science. I feel, though that we have just as good a chance as both of them and Arsenal ( and whoever else will join the race for his signature ) of signing him in the summer.

Never underestimate the drawing power of Old Trafford.;)

Well of course this is about the football part and not the business side. Essien doesn't care which club has the most fans, etc.

Looking at the recent Man U transfer sagas, I wouldn't be confident about any big transfers. You already messed up on Robben and Ronaldinho. And your priorities should be finding a GK and winger. And I highly doubt you can spend another 25-30 Euros again after buying Rooney even if you sell all your deadweight players.

A goalkeeper and Keane replacement are the priorities. Giggs still has a season left in the tank.

You are all talking about buying all these great players but who will you sell to finance the incoming transfers?

Santini and Domenech should kill themselves. If Saha was never an international, he wouldn't be injured as often as Pires dives in matches.

Kleberson, Belion, Miller etc.

I think that trio, combined, will get you about 3-5 million pounds at most.

Honestly, i dont see why a club of your size, wealth, etc, cannot simply afford to go into the red with transfer money for one season. A few million pounds to patch up a hole here and there i see no problem with, especially when you probably make untold millions from, i dunno, selling Ronaldo posters to little girls (and some confused little boys) in the far east. It wouldnt be the start of irresponsible spending, and it could easily be recovered if the tweaks go on to be the right ones, and you have a great year next year

Edit: ahh, good point ticcan. If you add Silvestre and Saha to those three, you could bring that total to maybe 15 million. Stick in O'Shea and Neville (maybe) and it could come to probably around 20.
With that kind of cash, youd be a lil thinner (obviously) but you could make your tansfers.

Selling those fringe player will lessen our wage bill. Add Saha and Silvestre to the lists too, should get about £10m at least I hope. :(

If Silvestre ever goes, we still have Spector who is at least better then him and can become better, otherwise, we have O'shea there or Heinze who can play in the centre too.
