its awesome to see Ronaldo back playing well, scoring goals. I like Saha so its nice to see we have a backup who can score. Big John is continuing his goal scoring streak :rockman:

Solskjaer set for reserve-team comeback

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to make a comeback in Manchester United's reserve-team clash against Liverpool on Monday.

The popular Norwegian, scorer of the goal which won United the Champions League in 1999, has not made a first-team appearance for the Red Devils since coming on as a substitute in the 2003 FA Cup final win over Millwall.

Earlier this week, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson played down Solskjaer's chances of a return, even hinting the 32-year-old was struggling to win his battle with a long-standing knee injury which has required two operations.

However, it now appears Ferguson was merely playing down speculation surrounding the striker and Solskjaer is now expected to play some part against Liverpool at Hyde United's Ewen Fields Ground.

'Ole should start or play against Liverpool,' Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News. 'On Tuesday he hadn't trained with the first team at all but he has trained with us for the first time and he looked absolutely terrific.

'I am really pleased about this and there is some light at the end of the tunnel now.'

Ferguson also revealed Ryan Giggs will return for tomorrow's encounter with Portsmouth.

Giggs has missed nine games since fracturing his cheekbone against Lille in October but Ferguson is now happy the Wales winger will not risk further injury by returning to first-team combat.

'Ryan will definitely take part in the game against Portsmouth,' Ferguson added. 'We have had to be careful after breaking a cheekbone, it is almost seven weeks now and he is fine.'
