Fergie has always been told that when a world class player becomes available, the Glazers will give him the money. Well. I would suggest Shevchenko is a World class player (though he is nearly 30) Just because Chelsea have Shevchenko that doesn't mean they will be unbeatable, look at what everyone thought about Real Madrid when they got "the Galactico's" together. Shevchenko may not be suited to the Premiership, Crespo didn't set the league on fire and he came from Serie A.

Thats why we have the matches.

On another topic, Fergie's recent decisions have been concerning me. The way he sacked Keano midseason, the handling of RVN (unless the rumours about what he said to Ronaldo about his father were true) and now the sacking of Mike Stone for "extra work outside club interests" translated as "helping Wayne Rooney play for England".
But also largely the way he's handled the team for the past couple of years, from trying to convert one of the best DMF's in the World (Kleberson) to an attacking role, and then selling him because "he can't shoot very well" to Eric Djemba-Djemba, David Bellion, Liam Miller etc.

Okay he also brought in Heinze, Rooney, Ronaldo, Vidic, Smithy and VDS in that period. Also it seems that theres this whole thing of "I'm the absolute boss and what I say goes" about recent events.
United have need of desperate changes as some of the players in our squad are not the quality Manchester United needs to be sucessful. The midfield needs at least two major additions IMO. Also I really feel that United are not the power we once were and this needs to be urgently addressed. We don't have a "devine right" to success, but we do expect that Manchester United should always be challenging for honours home and in Europe (and being eliminated at the group stage is unacceptable)

We can't compete with Abramovich's chequebook - nor should we. But we should be trying to recruit players that will add to the team and not feed of the crumbs. United's full power XI is among the best in the World - but the squad is severely lacking.

We do not need another striker tbh. If we were to get a striker, Rossi may never get to play games and thus, unfulfilling the potential that he has showed us. If Shevchenko wants to go to Chelsea, go ahead. He's gonna enjoy how warm the bench may feel sometimes.

Sheva wont be benched at chelski dude....and you right we dont need another striker what we need its 2 central midfielders and a side back.

My Wishlist:
1. Van der Vaart
2. De Rossi
3. Deco
4. Quaresma
5. Huntelaar ( just because he is so good)

Huntelaar is damn good but he is the same as Ruud, with good crosses he will do his work, but without it he will be invincible, look at the EC U21, the wingers aren't distributing good crosses so it is difficult for him to score. Huntelaar isn't ready yet, not by a long shot

Ruud "proving himself" to SAF might translate to "changing his style of play to provide more versatile attacking options for United (AKA play a similar role to Saha, except with exceptional finishing)", and given that he is towards the end of his career, I can't see it happening.

Ruud scored for us yesterday against Cameroon, we've won with 1-0 thanks to that goal, he was sharp and he was eager, can't wait for the WC to start :p
Huntelaar is going nowhere, all papers can write what they want, clubs can say what they want but he just signed for Ajax half year ago and Ajax will never let him go, other than that he enjoys playing for Ajax since it's childhood's dream and he doesn't want to leave for a foreign club, he thinks he's too young and want to grow more as a player before he takes that step.

Oh and I don't think HSV will let van der Vaart go, he's their starplayer, although I would love to see him play at OT.

Sack SAF and keep Ruud, he's going to be awesome on the WC mark my words! He's dying to show SAF that he couldn't be more wrong about him and then another big club will be the laughing third and snatches him away from MU and that will be really sh*t :nape:

Yea, we dont need to buy another striker. We have Saha and Rooney, Rossi as a sub. And after Smithy recovered, he can be our striker too.

As for the midfield, yea we have Scholes but he is getting older and we need a replacement for him soon. I just feel that Rossi can play in the Scholes position.

Saha can't be relied up what with his injury-proneness. If Ruud leaves we'll need to buy an established striker to replace him.

Yeah I agree, I mean come on, even Ferguson can't be that stupid. Spurs gain Berbatov, Chelsea gain Shevchenko, Liverpool might get Kuyt but we lose Ruud? Are you kidding me? Maybe Ferguson has riled Ruud up so Ruud can have some more motivation when he comes back after the world cup. We need a striker that can consistently bag us 20/30 goals a season and that person is Ruud. Not Saha, not Rooney, not Smith and not Rossi. Ruud and only Ruud. I hope he isn't leaving I really do because if does leave it's bye bye title, bye bye CL, bye bye to any trophies.
