Hey guys, I am new here and an avid Man United supporter. I have been a follower since I was 7 (I am now 28) and go to see the boys play a few times every year but follow all of their matches. I enjoyed the 2-0 win over the Chavs on Sunday and even though they won 4-0 last night I reckon they face huge problems. I reckon Arsenal will give us the competition this season and MAYBE L'pool if Rafa gets his act together and realises that he can't rotate his first eleven for EVERY game.

So who would Fergie bench to let Huntelaar play? Rooney or Tevez?
Easier said than done. I would stick with what you guys already have and let the dutchman play elsewhere. I tent to agree with Thelonious, he is dangerously overated.

Help?

Well, i don't know about Huntelaar. A lot of people said Torres is overrated as well and yet he is doing just great at Liverpool. I know its totally different style of players and leagues we are comparing, but this shows that if you get better service than you never know how a striker will fare.

And apart from that, Torres was kicked all over the park by Reading,( No surprise there), but he was not daunted by that and played well. I for one thought that Torres would wimp out in the EPL. How wrong I was. The lad has my respect for overcoming the thuggery from Reading, and getting a hat trick at the same time.

In the future, I for one will not be so quick to predict whether a player from another league can make it in England or not. Its silly to pre judge anyones resilience or talent until they have been given the chance to show what they can do. I think I knew that already but my dislike of Liverpool clouded my views at the time.

As did pede, I thought torres was a little girl coming from the soft defences of la liga and was going to be in for a huge suprise when he plays the thug teams like reading, but man did he suprise me.

you forget hes faced some of the hardest during world/european cups. You get a lot of experince there.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar caps:8 Goals:2

Fernando Torres caps:40 Goals:14

i'd be a little worried about his ability in england, but like the previous 2 mentioned, you never know.

Foreign players are meant to find it hard in their first season in the Premier League, after all, it's meant to be the toughest league in the world, as Ballack and Shevchenko found out last season. Torres is taking the league like a duck does to water, and as I recall, he was a United target and I do not know how we didn't grab him at the first chance.

You don't have to worry about Huntelaar, he will score ANYWHERE, he already scored 7 goals for us within a few weeks and he's always dangerous.
He leaves at the end of the season and I hope he will join United (Y)
First though he has to make us champions :junior: Another very talented new player for us signed for 5 years...his name is Luis Suarez and he's from Urugay and scores EVERY GAME, each goal more brilliant than the other so we got his replacement already ;)

Mikey.....you already have a team thread muppet and that is Lee.

Your thread does not need 2 muppets. You do not need to come down to his level.

I would guess that Fergie has been Manager at Man U since the day you began supporting them so you have no idea how disruptive change can be. One day you will find out, and I'll be here to rub it in as hard as I can pal.

It's alright for Lee 'cos he's been a Man U fan only shortly before Nani arrived so he don't count.

You can blame my Mum, she's Chelsea and winds me up so I'm kinda still on that argument pattern! Actually Big Ron was in charge of United when I started supporting them - although I was 4 at the time so maybe you have a point. :)

Anyway, I heard that United's youngsters flopped spectacularly against Coventry. It's got to be something to do with desire, because Nani in particular looks class in the Premiership. Mind you questions need to be asked of anyone who isn't up for a game at Old Trafford in front of 70,000 odd people.

On MUTV they were discussing that maybe the youngsters are too insulated now, the reserve leagues are now pretty much youth leagues now and also they don't do any character building work like apprentices of old. Maybe because they're already well paid they feel they "have made it" already. Anderson has dissapointed, but I'm sure it's just an acclimatisation period.

As for today, I'm hoping United go out there and play like we know they can, Birmingham did well at Anfield, but at home they should hopefully attack us and we can hit them on the break. I'm going for a 2-0.

What a weak first half, the worst of the bunch is Giggsy, the only one playing well is Tevez, we can't manage a decent pass to one another

Kulixs

Starting XI
Kusczak starts the second half. I think quite simply Saha needs to play. When he comes on the whole team plays differently, and it looks like the team is complete.
