Yeah apparently Wes only found out about her 5 years ago - she was 30something. From what i've read they were close considering they hadn't known themselves that long, she was very down to earth and the fact that Wes is a Premiership Footballer didn't faze her at all. Tragic
Wes is flying back tomorrow apparently. I wouldn't think he'll play tonight against the Orlando Pirates, although maybe a match will help him take his mind off things for 90 minutes.
I wonder who'll get some game time tonight, rumours are that Wayne Rooney may be a sub to allow Fraizer Campbell a run out. Michael Carrick and Mikael Silvestre are also expected to feature heavilly - I'm betting on Ben Foster being the keeper to start. Scholesy is likely to be rested, as is Ryan.

Brown is starting tonight.
Wow, barring Brown I predicted the first XI spot on! Good workout for the lads against a pacy and aggressive team. Tevez was kicked from pillar to post.
Fraizer Campbell showed promising glimpses, I thought Eagles did alright and Martyn on the left had some nice touches. Johnny Evans was near invisible which I suppose is good for a defender as it points to quiet efficiency. I'm a bit concerned with the lack of goals, but without Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves in the mix - then we're hardly at full strength yet.
Ben Foster made some nice saves, but really he had a quiet night - but as he said, the key is to maintain concentration which he did.
From this preseason so far it's difficult to see anyone who could push into the full squad (when Evra, Nani, Anderson, VDS etc are back) Although if I was pushed for a name I'd say Campbell.
Also it appears that the Tottenham case over Berbatov has been shot down, the fanclub responsible for the misunderstanding has put their hands up and apologised - the Sun quoted their misquote, understandably annoying Daniel Levy. I am glad, given his condemnation of Real Madrid - that Sir Alex didn't make the Berbatov comment afterall.
Counting down the days till I get to see Ole's big night at Old Trafford on the 2nd.

AS, a european newspaper of dubious integrity has claimed Carlos Tevez has said he thinks Ronaldo should be allowed to go and that "all players dream of Real"
Until I see him say it I won't believe it - Tevez is a Man Utd fan (he was fined at his club in Brazil for wearing a United shirt!)

Tevez wants a full time move to United (it's agreed in principle already) and has stated on several occasions that he is settled at the club and his family are settled in Manchester - I would be very surprised if Carlos made such a comment, especially when Sir Alex is on tour in Africa alongside him. At the most it's probably misquoted - I bet.
MUTV have "Countdown to Africa" on tonight - another phone in, these are usually quite useful as you get the official line on what's happening (if they know, MUTV only confirm what club officials tell them - but it's a good rumour killer)

saw an actual interview with Tevez, he did say Ronaldo should be let go if that's what he wants, he didnt however bash on Man U or say he wasnt a fan, he just said that a lot of kids dream with playing in Madrid and a lot dream of playing in Man U and that Ronaldo should be allowed his choice....anyway just trying to clear that up
