After the game, Ferguson said that they suspect a broken leg for Cleverley. This will keep him out for 2-3 months at least. :nape: **** Davies.

Evans will miss the Benfica game through injury and Evra is doubtful.

Poor kid, he was on the form of his life playing the kind most people only dream of. Here's hoping he takes this well. Awesome game, BTW!

Shame for Cleverly, its tough mentally to cope with such an injury when you are just about to break into the first team. I'm sure the staff will guide him well through this, and with Welbeck too.

I too am very surprised at the great start we made, I believe best ever since 1895 the commentator said? And we might have played depleted Arsenal at home last week, this was Bolton in their own park and they didn't look like getting anything at all. We controlled the whole game like it was Old Trafford.

I think the whole thing must be due to having so many new young, hungry players in the team. Half to a third of the starting lineup never won anything and they want this bad. Also big reason is our pace. Anderson finally stepped up and his one-touch passing is much much faster than Scholes', who would rather pick a long pass most of the time, while on the wing Young is not holding back like Giggs would and upfront there is no Berbatov to slow things down. Plus we got guys at the back like Smalling and Jones stepping over players. Anybody remember that run by Jones for Rooney's goal? I couldn't believe a centre-back did that. Maybe we don't need Sneijder afterall. Barca's midfield might be amaizing, but they also have 5-6 years on our midfield and if Cleverly and Anderson establish the partnership that they are capable of, then holy ****. Our team is MAD young and they are running riots in the EPL.

City mercenaries won't be able to keep up they don't have the commitment and desire required to dominate EPL, Tevez said it all when talking about Aguero: "First week he said he had english class, second week he said he wish he didn't have english and third week he said i'm going for a siesta instead".

Fortunatley Tom has suffered ligament damage to his foot rather than a fracture :).

However, he will be out for at least a month :(.

I hope Carrick/Fletcher can fill the void ?????

I agree very well summed up. Without Berbatov and Carrick in the starting lineup, we play a fast, dynamic game. Anderson is playing very well too. He is not Scholes but he has attributes that Scholes didn't have. I think Scholes's retirement was a good thing too because we needed new young players in the first team and this gave way to Cleverley.

Very good news on Cleverley. A broken foot would keep him out for at least 3 months. Carrick and Fletcher both have experience and are a plus to have as backup. I would prefer Fletcher to replace him while he is injured.

----------------Chicharito---------
----------Rooney------------------
Young------------------------Nani
-------Anderson--Fletcher-------
-----------------------------------
Evra------------------------Fabio
-------Smalling--Ferdinand-----

This would be my prefered lineup with our current squad. I know Jones and Smalling played very well at RB but I like Fabio. He is not that good in defense but he has the speed and makes some great runs down the flank.

Jones makes great runs up the middle!

Exactly, he can play in midfield as well.

I miss fit Fletcher, I think he can play in our "fast forward" system this year.

and Nady, you're right about Carrick and Berba. However, Berba can still be effective in multiple situations.

kp40: You see Rooney make a goalline clearance right after the first goal? and it wasn't even a corner situation.

United 2-1 Fulham, Mame scored 2. His positioning and pace were impressive, I think we will hear more about him this year ;).

We have way too many strikers. As much as I love Berba, I think we would have got a lot of cash from him if we sold him. Last year was his best EPL season in his carreer. Now he's 4th or maybe 5th down the pecking order. In other words, thats 30+ million pounds sitting on the bench.

How are we gonna keep 7 strikers happy? Diouf certainly does not deserve to be playing reserve games. Macheda is young and I think he should play in the reserves but Diouf is 23 something and should be playing first team football right now. I hope Fergie loans out Diouf. The window for loans is still open right?

I think Fergie should test in few matches whether Diouf is ready for United's first him.

If he is, I think selling Berba in January transfer window will be the best option for all parties. Btw, I think his price tag is betweem 10-20 million right now.

I personally think Danny, Diouf will fit into our system better that Berba, fit and fast Owen will be a good addition as well.

Ferdinand did not travel with the team for the Benfica game. Interestingly, Evra was made captain against Bolton with Ferdinand playing. From what I hear, his omission is just to rest him. This will leave us with Evans, Smalling and Jones available for CB. I am expecting something like this:

Evra - Smalling - Evans - Jones

Although I would prefer this:

Evra - Smalling - Jones - Fabio

Very young defense either way, especially if you include 20 year old De Gea.

Ferdinand was stripped from the captaincy a long time, shouldn't you know this?

Vidic and Evra have been wearing the armband even when he's played for at least a year now.

Ferdinand almost always captains in the absence of Vidic. At some point, Evra captained even with Vidic playing because Fergie was still experimenting on the captain's role before officially naming Vidic as long term captain.

Making Evra vice captain makes sense I think because he plays more games than both Vidic and Ferdinand each year.
