Gold Cup, you mean? he didn't play in the Copa ...

anyway, Luisito is only a year older than Chicharito, and he stayed till the final weekend of both the 2010 World Cup AND the 2011 Copa ... granted Liverpool's not doing great, but on an individual level, he's been pretty special, and doesn't looked jaded one bit ...

Messi played in the Copa too ... and he's only ever had one summer (2009) off in his career ...

They play a lot more than Chicharito too. I think when you use that as an excuse for someone like Tevez or Rooney or even Messi and Suarez or someone fragile like Robben, it's perhaps valid, but Hernandez has sat on the bench a lot, and doesn't exactly have a Rooney style of play.

I mentioned in the previous post that its a lot considering Chicharito's developmental stage. He only emerged as a top player only in 2010. He developed at a much later age than Suarez or Messi. Suarez and Messi have been top class for at least a good 5 years now. Chicharito is not much younger but he's still developping. It has not been an easy 2 years for him. 2 years ago he was an unknown and suddenly he has to carry the responsibility of being the primary scorer of his national team.

No doubt, that is very difficult and credit to him. Last season was pretty magical. Can you imagine getting to United as an afterthought and taking away Berbatov's job?

If QPR beat city tomorrow or even DRAW,
Then United need to just beat Sunderland to win the title !
Thats superb and so easy ive no clue why everyone has written United off

Where did you read these rumors? That would represent a jersey dedicated to Scotland rather than Ferguson. Terrible idea. The reason why this pattern was used is explained here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-pays-homage-to-citys-industrial-history.html

There is a historic reason behind the design.

I've only seen the homage-to-Fergie crap on twatter and FB. As for the actual historical reasons - I hope we'll never see a kit with red brick pattern to celebrate the architecture of Manchester.

Help?

From the Premier League website:
2011/2012 season
Luis Suarez: 30 apps (2 subs), 237 minutes/goal
Javier Hernandez: 28 apps (10 subs), 157 minutes/goal

Because that's City losing the title not United winning it

What kind of mess is this? The dude was at Werder Bremen, and he didn't sign with Madrid until late August. He actually played a first round German Cup game with Bremen that year. If you wanted Ozil before the World Cup, you would have had him. You're making him seem like he was Leo Messi at that point.

eh... I was under the impression everyone wanted him after the world cup, due to his performance. I don't remember him being on the radar before that.

With the way the Spanish government is at the moment, i.e. we have another Ireland, I think real, etc are expected to pay back loans. Maybe a chance to get some cheap players soon, they could be selling.

I think Real and Barca are relatively safe, economically, but there's always Valencia, Athletic, Atletico, etc to raid.

did they have those weird loans from the Gov too? Either way, I guess if a club did have a problem there would be no shortage of sugar daddies.

All the other clubs have very large delinquent tax bills that the government usually just writes off, but it seems that won't happen this time.

Boy, this thread is quiet.

lol

Thought we had that yesterday. I was in a pub with both games on at the same time. I was goin mental when the United game finished. Then IT happened, sigh... so close. What a season though, cant wait for next season. Vidic back, hopefully a few new players, Hernandez back to scoring for fun, the young lads with this years experience that bit better etc.

United squad in good shape

Sir Alex Ferguson has explained why only minor surgery is required on the United squad this summer.
The boss is planning to make additions to ensure the Reds are able to compete for honours again next term but is also expecting improvement from some of the younger players. There is also the prospect of some of the title-winning Reserves being promoted, with the Keane twins and Ryan Tunnicliffe impressing the manager in the play-off with Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Thursday.

“We’ve got one or two things we want to do,” revealed Sir Alex, when quizzed about the transfer market. “We know where we’re going. Yes, there are definitely specific targets. That’s what it is – you buy what you need to buy, if we can get it done.

“I don’t think the squad needs freshening up. I think I’ve got to make sure we’ve got a really strong squad.”

The picture looks healthy for the manager as he takes stock of the situation this summer with young England quartet Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley likely to mature.

“We’ve got a good base,” he asserted. “Obviously every young player will hopefully get that maturity and authority into their game. We saw that with [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Wayne] Rooney.

"I think with Jones, Smalling, Welbeck and Cleverley, we’ll see that with them. They have very good potential.
“There’s the two da Silvas [Rafael and Fabio] and [David] De Gea. There’s a good nucleus of young people in the club.

"The next tier of players includes Nani, Rooney, [Jonny] Evans – they are all young enough to stay with us for a long time, for a few years hopefully, and we can build a team around that nucleus.

“There are one or two younger players in the Reserves too. Will Keane is doing very well at the moment and he’ll definitely come into the squad next year. There are one or two of them – his brother has actually done very well too. Michael is playing well. Ryan Tunnicliffe has a chance.”

O dear... thats not a good read. But there again for all the money City spent they only did us on goal difference, with apparently our weakest team in years. Not expecting any big signings again.

Yes right. Trophyless, Crashed out of the UCL, ******* EUROPA and FA Cup and we "just need a few minor changes".

What's the chance of the youth players he mentioned above to replicate the success of the Class of 1992? Quite low I'd say but they do show promise. Our youth system hasn't produced any stars for AGES now.
