Team News: Manchester United v Rangers

Sir Alex Ferguson will check on Mikael Silvestre before naming his "strongest team" for Manchester United's Champions League date with Rangers.

The French defender has been out of action since picking up a knee injury nine days ago and unless he trains on Monday it looks as though he could miss out.

Roy Keane will return to lead United after being rested over the past 10 days and Phil Neville is also expected to make a comeback in midfield, probably at the expense of England team-mate Nicky Butt.

Should Silvestre fail to make it, John O'Shea is set to continue at centre back with Quinton Fortune on the left.

Ferguson has hinted that he is ready to involve 19-year-old Scotland international Darren Fletcher in a central midfield role alongside Keane but Eric Djemba-Djemba is also in contention, while 18-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo competes for a starting place on the right.

Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson returns to the squad after being out since the end of August with a dislocated shoulder but Paul Scholes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Wes Brown are all missing as they recover from surgery.

2-0 to Man Utd, if they score more than 2 I'll be surprised. Rangers will be better than them for around 30 minutes with Man Utd scoring the goal via counter attacking them. I've never been really impressed by their performances this season.

The only game I've been impressed with their attacking play is the Carling Cup match against Leeds & its with their reserve. That itself says alot. They should play Fletcher in the center to replace Scholes, that is where I feel he is more potent.

My preferred line-up for the Rangers game:

GK-Tim Howard

DR-Gary Neville
DL-Quinton Fortune
DC-John O'Shea
DC-Mikael Silvestre

MR-Cristiano Ronaldo
ML-Ryan Giggs
MC-Roy Keane
MC-Darren Fletcher

FWD-Ruud v.Nistelrooy
FWD-Diego Forlan

(Dropping Ferdinand coz he's making mistakes & his mind is not entirely on playing football, you guys should know why. Normally I would not prefer Forlan, but coz he's on a streak he deserve to be in the first X1. I'm still not convince he is good enough to play in this level.)

I'm still hoping they would play as fluently as they did in the treble winning year and the years before. That's my opinion what do my fellow Man Utd fans think?

United aren't playing Celtic tomorrow!

They are playing Rangers. By the Way, Celtic won the last time they were at Old Trafford in 2001 by 4 goals to 3 so Ranger CAN do it too.
