Cleverley should go but Nani and Hernandez could be useful backups. When Falcao leaves, we can have van Persie and Hernandez as backup for Rooney. Nani seems to be doing fine in Portugal. We all know the flair that he has. Hopefully he will come back as an improved player.

Agreed about the Cleverley part. Dunno about Chicha at the moment, I think he should find a club where he could be a regular starter. I'd keep Nani.

To be honest I can see van Persie leaving in the summer and us signing a new striker. Who could it be and would fit the bill? I have no idea.

Unmotivated subs are useless

Chicharito has been used mostly as an impact subs for United and always seemed motivated to score goals.

Nani seemed content coming off the bench. He had the chance to join smaller clubs where he would have played every game but he preferred to sit on the United bench and he signed a contract last year. He never bitched about sitting on the bench.

Where would RvP go? He is old, white haired and rusted. No one will pay his wages other than us. I am happy with him as long as he doesn't start when Rooney is.

I read some rumours about linking him with Fenerbahce. I think they could afford his wages and also he has his buddy Kuyt playing there. Dunno what to make of it though. I wouldn't expect a huge transfer fee, but I wouldn't mind getting him off of our wage bill, that's for sure.

Once you send a 28 year old former starter out on a season long loan, you can't really bring them back into the fold without a management change - they don't exactly feel motivated or full of passion and loyalty.

Hummels: I'd only leave BVB for Manchester United.

Seems pretty obvious where he is going to play next season...

There was a point when I was really pissed off that Hummels was always gravitating more towards United than us because I thought he was exactly what we needed, but actually the more I look at him the more I see a David Luiz type figure, maybe not with the same lack of discipline/concentration lapses, but too attacking and prone to neglecting his duties sometimes. United can have Hummels if we get Varane.

Hummels has really trailed off in the last couple seasons. He can still spray long passes and his positioning is still good, but physically his body just lets him down. He can't really run at all. I wouldn't really want him on my team unless it was a huge improvement over what we had (true in United's case, but not in Chelsea's), or we could get him at a cut rate price for some reason. I really think Dortmund is willing to sell him this summer because they see his declining level of play and want to cash in on him before the hype wears away and clubs evaluate him properly. This is probably the last time they can swindle a stupid English club into massively overpaying for him.

Exactly - two years ago they were determined not to sell him at any price, now they are like 'oh, shit, you know that offer you made us two years ago..... can we talk.......?'. They are lucky there is such a dearth of top centrebacks available at the moment, and that United's stock has fallen somewhat.

Hummels is still the best option available out of all central defenders who can realistically move. He is slow but all our current centre backs (except Evans maybe) are fast so they could complement him.
