Mario Balotelli

YELLOW CARD - Sarcasm
After his fabulous display against Arsenal the other day, I'm going to start off by listing some of the rumoured "shenanigans" Mario Balotelli has got himself into during his time with Man City.

  • 1 - A week before Christmas, it was rumoured that Mario Balotelli had dressed up as Santa Claus and was giving out cash to people passing by.
  • 2 - Mario Balotelli was bored and he decided that throwing darts at a Man City youth player was not only safe but a civil thing to do.
  • 3 - Mario struggles to work a bid during a warm up before a Europa League match. Once he's got help from a coach, finally getting the bib on, he decides he doesn't want it anymore and chooses a different colour, which he then proceeds to have further difficulty with.
  • 4 - In a Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands, it was reported that Mario Balotelli was more preoccupied with his iPad than watching the game.
  • 5 - Normal people cure their boredom by doing normal things, but Mario Balotelli cured his boredom by setting his house alight with fireworks. Then becoming the spokesperson for Firework safety.
  • 6 - Balotelli visits a Casino in the early hours during the week and manages to win £25,000 (A reported quarter of his weekly wage). Upon leaving the Casino, he spots a homeless man with Ginger dreadlocks that he's seen around a number of times and gives him £1,000 because he "Likes his hair"
  • 7 - Mario Balotelli's English is improving but it's still simplistic. So when the police pulled him over and then enquired why he had £5,000 in his back pocket, Balotelli was concise in his response: "Because I am rich."
  • 8 - During an away game against Dynamo Kiev, Balotelli has to be taken off after suffering from an allergic reaction too the grass used on Kiev's pitch.
  • 9 - During a shopping trip at the Trafford Centre, Balotelli noticed a young boy in his school uniform during school hours. Balotelli approached and asked the boy why he was missing school. The Child confirmed he was being Bully, at which point Balotelli took him to the school, waltz in and told the Bully "Don't pick on this kid, as he is my friend". Balotelli then drove off, all while flipping off the bully.

Anyway, I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are on Balotelli. Sure, It doesn't take a genius to notice that he's an absolute loon but frankly I love him. It's like he just loves trolling people in real life.

Oh and tits.
If he had broken Song's leg I would have called him names but he didn't so I will admit I find him entertaining. He is like the evil version of Eboue. He is better than Suarez who I think is mentally ill.

I love him and find him hilarious BUT I do not find leg breaking tackles on the pitch quite so funny. I wish he would sort that part of his game out.

There are loads more stories than the ones you mentioned. One of my favourites is that in Italy he and his brother drove his Maseratti right into the grounds of a women's prison to "have a look around". This Have I Got News For You segment is quite a good summary of some of his antics... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQhRGV4Hj9c

Anyway, might not be a Premier League players much longer, though we all know how firmly Mancini keeps to his word about players "never playing for the club again"...

Yeah, that's the best one

Yesterday I ripped the "Why Always Me" picture off my wall (I printed it and put it on my brother's pillow after the 1-6 and he put it on my wall, didn't do it myself). As a fan who has to put up with him all the time, you love to hate him but hate to love him. Overall I really have never liked him, hated when we signed him, but he's an absolute nutcase and entertainment machine. Talented, yes, but he just doesn't look like he ever cares (aside from maybe a span of 2-3 months this season). Completely wrong attitude and just doesn't seem like the type who will ever flourish because of it.

Also, if you haven't checked out his interview with Noel Gallagher before, I suggest you do so. According to him, most of the crazy stories about him aren't even true (even the good samaritan ones):

I honestly think this is the most amusing and entertaining figure in professional football ever.

Never a dull moment with Mario. Keep it up, I'd say!

I completely agree, but I also think it would be completely irresponsible and idiotic for a manager to put faith in him. He's nothing more than an eccentric bench player at the top level.

Mario Balotelli and Emmanuel Adebayor are the best two strikers in the EPL. :D

^ hah, from the new (pretty sweet) Nike EURO 2012 commercial:

surprising that they didn't use him more prominently ...
