sKIp_E, Hakeem or anybody else who's good at Access editing, can you confirm for me this?

Does the captaincy for a team gets corrupted when you use the CC to install the database? i.e. somebody strange becomes the captain?

Because this is what I am getting when I am testing with my ECP Access editor, while looking up at an edited version of .dbi by the CC.

Colours are easy, and can be found in the colour table ;)

No, as far as i know the captain stays as the default EA one unless you manually change it.

I think that either:
i) there is a variable SOMEWHERE in the access database that chooses original team captain (where i dont know),

OR

ii) When creating the new dbi files, the CC doesnt just look at ur Access DB, but uses it as a guide (much like the old "FIFA02" ingame creation centre image file), to see what has been changed. This way the Captain variable doesnt need to be in the Access files, only hidden away in the dbi's somewhere.


The fact that you're getting a corrupted captain value when you change things around really suggests that it is in the dbi's somewhere, UNLESS it is elsewhere AND because you are changing somethings it offsets the whole DB and points to the wrong location.
The latter is very unlikely, so id say Captain is editable, SOMEHOW!

Can I suggest somebody contact Sylvain from FIFA French Touch, and just ask him what value in the FIFA 2002/WC2002 dbi's indicated the team captain. Chau would be happy to help Im sure except for his agreement with EA, and so im guessing that Sylvain is the man we need to ask ;)

Mucked up squad numbers and tactics

I guess this has been picked up on before, but it's getting difficult to find in the 450 posts on this thread!

How do you get around the problem of the squad numbers and tactics being messed up when you go into FIFA?

I have just updated the Aston Villa squad and all the numbers and positions are messed up - I have a defender in goal and a goalkeeper up front! :D

Hmm, I dont know. I thought that not losing saved games was one of the major reasons people were using Access, so I was kind of expecting not to lose any saved games. After I added holland, I went to the Creation Centre, pressed "new", and Holland was in the international section. So I saved it as a package, and installed it. Even though in the game there is now a section called "Creation Centre Teams", it has no teams in it, and Holland is in the international section in the game.

You uppdated Aston Villla with what? CreationCentre or a Access Editor?

If you did it with CC, I got a tip for you: Don't do it there.
Next, There are three Access Editors out, one by sKIp_E and one by me. Those are in english, and there is one by Oojunior which is in Portuguese. I recomend you to use Access to add or edit stuff in FIFA. Use the CC ONLY to install what you have edited or made.

Sorry - should have made myself clear. I used CC to add the players, and then edited a few things with Access.

I guessed from reading the forums that CC is not class A material for editing.

Hopefully Chau Le will have some luck making FEd2003 - I reckon it's going to be a big challenge to make that one.

Sorry to disapoint you mate, but there will be no Fed or FCDB editors this year.
The only thing you can do is use the CC (which will mess up your game)
or use the Access Editors (which allows you to do more then CC and does not mess up your game).

the chooice is yours ;)

Geez! Is this because Chau Le has given up, or because EA Sports have finally made the game impossible to export to without CC?

Is your Access editor on the FIFA 2003 site?

I think the reason is that Chau can't do it anymore. Last year the editor came out at the end of the "FIFA 2002 era", and now the damn EA sports have changed the file system in some ways, so it would take even longer time to make a new editor.

I know where the captain Id is stored, it is in the .dbi file. But it is just that when I use the CC to import the dev_all_data.mdb, the captain seemed to have changed for Arsenal, to Seaman.

You will be able to edit the captaincy when I get to finally programming an editable version of ECP Access. (At the mo, you can only view data)

There's still many things that I need to work out and program tho. So, still a long way off.

Oh, then it that case, im not absolutley sure. I didnt think that I did lose captaincy data, BUT I never overwrite the original dbi's with the CC generated ones. Maybe since the captaincy part isnt stored in the Access files, it still uses the original dbi's for this, and if you over right them, you lose it.

Really Im not sure, but id idnt think i lost captaincy info. Maybe it depends what you change.

I wonder if the CC can generate its own .dbi without the original .dbi......I think that's possible. I'll try removing the original .dbi when installing the package.

The captaincy changes only to the teams which player is edited. If I don`t edit any Milan players appereances or abilty then it would still be Maldini. But if I edit it then the captaincy switches between Rivaldo, Shevchenko, or anyone who is positioned as LF or LCM.

Hi all!
i made some changes with acces data editor, but the changes didn't appear in the game...
I tried to put Dario Simic into Milan from Croatia: At the "player table" i linked up him with Milan and at the "team table" i increased the number of the team players, and in the "team players" part i put simic in. In CC, Simic appears in Milan, but in the game he doesn't. I have the same problem, when i tried to put Redondo and Leonardo into the game....
Could somebody tell me, what did i do wrong?

You still have to install the package.

Once you have edited in access, go to the CC, and go file new, then file save
Save the package, and THEN go package-Install.

That should fix things up ;)
