You saying that rap,hip hop,R n B and stuff like that have a point in it but punk and rock dosent?I dont think so, they only sing about sex, money and drugs...
dumbest post yet. I'm sorry that you have only been exposed to what MTV or the radio call rap or hip hop. fair enough RnB is only about love or money it is pure garbage. but rap and hip hop are a lot different once you get past the mainstream, much like punk, everyone can go around dissing this so called 'punk' music they see on MTV or hear on the radio but in actual fact it isnt punk. but people must realise it isnt the fault of MTV or the radio for how ****ty music has gotten in recent years, the only people to blame are the record labels. why? because they pay the radio stations and MTV to play their artists over lesser known and in most cases better artists who are signed to some small indy label.
I am by no means a fan of Linkin Park, in fact i straight out dispise them and anything they have created, but nobody can call them sell-outs, there is a simple reason for this, they started out making the same sort of music you hear. as soon as that chester dude joined the band that is the style they have created. selling out is when a band or artist changes their by request of their record label.
For example, has anyone else noticed that whenever Eminem is about to release a new album, the first single is the most catchy pop non hip-hop money grabbing peice of **** on the album. every one of his commercial releases has had this.
another example would be green-day (bitch all you want they arent puck) back in the day they were considered punk, but somewhere along the way, i think it was between insomniac and Shifty*rod, they completely changed styles, sure you can argue there was the occasional punk song on their later albums but the fact remains green day did sell out and rancid did threaten to kill them if they ever returned to their old stompig grounds.
as for this 14 year old preaching all this old rock horse****, nobody gives a flying ****, music continually evolves, and for the most part it is for the better, you are too busy trying to be individual and anti everything that you fail to realise that you are a conformist brat. if you werent so busy trying to seem mature and above everyone with your musical tastes i wouldnt give a ****, but you think that what you say is gospel. you are just like all these teeny-boppers that are too busy listening to avril and good charlotte thinking they are punk and being individuals for wearing ties and having dog collars to realise that there are 10 million other people that are exactly the same as you saying exactly the same things. get over yourself.
like what ever music you want but when it comes to peoples personal opinions you will never be able to convince everyone.
