The Subway itself usually stops service at around 1:30am, but there's a wonderful thing called Blue Night. those are buses that basically run all night on the more major streets in Toronto. the Yonge one is a lifesaver if you're a commuter like me and like to party once in a while without having a place to crash (although nowadays I find myself waking up at random friends' houses downtown, so it's all good). Living up north on Bayview isn't a hassle even if you're not driving, just involves a trip north on the Yonge Blue Night (which goes to Steeles if I'm not mistaken) then going 1 block east to Bayview, which you could either walk or take a $5 max cab home depending on your condition.

as for indoor soccer, best bet is a place in Woodbridge (MartinGrove & Highway 7) called Soccer Centre. 7's just north of Steeles and MartinGrove is just west of Kipling, aka my hood, aka if you ever get the urge to play indoor soccer, I WILL hunt you down and rape you. it's one of the best indoor soccer centres around though, but only been there once since I don't like paying to play soccer. for random outdoor play, right next to Soccer Centre is Holy Cross high school, has like 2 or 3 regulation fields with mesh nets and everything, and one AMAZING small field with smaller nets (with mesh) for like 5-on-5 or 6-on-6 play which I've only went to once and I loved it.

cheap eateries... not entirely sure around the North York area :S I usually go with the random pizza places where you can get a large pepperoni or what-not for like $6 walk-in. there's also a few burger joints that make those big ass Lick's style burgers for half the price too. OH, and right on Yonge & Finch, next to the Shopper's Drug Mart, is a Korean karaoke place that's even open when I walk by at 4am (H) just thought you should know about that since you're Asian

Random PS: I saw a black people's nightclub near Yonge and Sheppard when I went to visit my friend. It was the first time I've seen that! I think it's interesting. I wonder if Yoss hangs out there.

Hahahahaha, Canadians (H)

if you;'re working in Richmond Hill, you should live IN Richmond Hill. But, with a car , the North York area may be O.K.A.Y. Since it;s ony 4 month,s I would tend to believe that you really don't need to worry about settling down....unless you're planning on sticking aroudn longer. There was a Wendy's or Burger King somewhere around the Jane Street area, although it may be further west....great onion rings.

Nice. (H)

Too bad it's winter so outdoor soccer probably won't be available. Guess I'll go with the risk of rape once in a while.

Though I am a Torontian, I still like saying "football" rather than "soccer". :p

The pitch is covered in snow now. No more football. :(

Toronto's pretty safe, I dunno why the rest of Canada is all scared. Obviously we'll have more crime seeing how it's a big city. I used to live in Windsor, its downtown was way more drunk/unsafe than Toronto.

Mississauga is life though, if you can live near a go bus terminal or Islington subway then getting to Toronto's no problem.

Btw, does anyone know any good pizza places in Mississauga? There were lots in Windsor cos of the Italians but all Mississauga pizza tastes like cardboard pizza and I've only lived here for around 4 months.

What does the clip of Belarussian R'n'B performer (or at least he's considered to be one) Seryoga have to do with your thread?

He's a half australian/croatian r&B character.

Now, moving on to more important sh*t, if you watched Chernobyl Heart(won an Academy Award you know), you would know that

A) It's Belorussian when talking about people and Belarussian when talking about the languate...it won an Academy award
B) 99% of Belarus is in STILL a radiation "danger" zone due to excessively high levels of radiation.

How are the alcohol laws over there in Toronto? and how are they at the dorms? I almost had my ass arrested/deported on Saturday for buying a friend of mine a Vodka bottle, and then the next day I was clearing out a few empty beer bottles, and they accidentally clung together a bit, and just my luck, there were a couple of Residential service guys outside my room at the time, they heard it and I got written up for that.
