it does. I'm just amazed that a guy like Kwame Brown is possibly making more money than the best NHL players out there... pretty sad

:S That blows my salary cap theory... Unless his contract ends this year..

Yeah, his contract expires after this season, so that should free up $9M for the Grizz this off season. They also just traded Stromile Swift for Jason Collins. I have no idea why. Both have similar contracts, $6M, but Collins is for another year. I guess they don't feel too confident about their ability to sign a big man this off season, or they don't think there is going to be anyone good out there. I guess Jason Collins would be a better big man influence on whoever they draft next year, which will probably be Michael Beasley if everything goes according to plan. They have officially entered "tank mode" and it is 100% for Beasley.

yeah, I think that Brown was the biggest expiring contract out there. Also, I heard that Stro has a player's option next year.

The Grizz should never have left Vancity, man. They actually had very supportive fans there, and there aren't many better cities out there to live in the world, let alone North America, than Vancity, man.

one positive thing that'll come out of this transaction for the Grizz other than the obvious financial relief.....it'll boost Darko's self esteem somewhat....I mean c'mon, the ****er can't possibly be worse than that cake throwin', T-Rex armed Cocksucker, right? That oughta make 'em feel better about himself slightly, right?

I would love to see a lineup arrangement where Collins, Darko and Brown share the floor.....I'd ******* pay to see that catastrophic formation, man....

What do you think of Shaq going to Phoenix? If I'm Pheonix, why would I want him, he can't run anymore, plus he's not really a defensive guy!

It might work. he wont play more than 10-15 mins anyway, and Suns do have a "lack of big guy" problem at Center.

that trade goes up there with the VC to the Nets trade as one of the worst I've ever seen... what the **** were the Suns thinking? I really dont think Shaq is the answer to bring the title to Phoenix. horrible.

Obviously the Suns are desperate to win a championship before Nash starts his inevitable decline but giving up an All-Star in Marion for a Shaq is that a mere shadow of his younger days and taking on that monstrous contract is absolutely ridiculous. At least Steve Kerr had the balls to pull of this sort of move, you rarely see anything like this in the NBA anymore.

I talked to someone last night who actually liked the Shaq trade for the Suns. I was amazed that someone actually thought it was good, but here's what he said. Essentially Shaq is there to get defensive rebounds and quickly throw the outlet pass to Nash. Then the Suns will break with 4 guys and only worry about Shaq on offense if they can't get something in the fast break. Shaq can take up space and push Amare to the 4 where he can be more effective.

EDIT: Bill Walton just said essentially the same thing.

I think it's one of the stupidest trades I've ever seen. Nash isn't going to be playing forever, and lord knows Shaq isn't either. Marion is in his prime. When Nash is done, the Suns would still have Barbosa, Marion, and Amare to build around. Now they're pretty screwed.

Newsflash Marion wasn't going to resign. The only anti shaq trade argument you can make is will Shaq be more useful than Marion during these play-offs.

I would love to see Pheonix win it now.
